Good news for those interested in buying a second-generation Infiniti FX.  Released as a 2010 model year vehicle, the crossover will see slight price increases for two version, and none for the third.

Infiniti bumped up the base price of the FX35 rear-wheel-drive to $42,400, up $250 over the 2009 model.  The all-wheel-drive version of the FX35 will cost $43,850, a $150 increase.  Those purchasing the high-end FX50 all-wheel-drive will pay $58,400, the same price as the 2009 model year vehicle.

The FX35 comes with a 303-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine, while the FX50 includes a 32-valve, 5.0-liter DOHC V8 that produces up to 390 hp.  The 2010 model year crossovers include a seven-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel disc brakes, and 21-inch aluminum-alloy Enkei wheels.  Bluetooth and USB support comes standard.  If you do not opt for the optional hard drive-based navigation system, you get the somewhat antiquated 2.0-gigabyte version of the Music Box hard drive MP3 player.  The Bose Premium Audio system does come standard.

The 2010 Infiniti FX35 and FX50 should go on sale in the coming weeks.

Infiniti today announced pricing on the 2010 Infiniti FX, which is on sale now at Infiniti retailers nationwide. The second-generation FX enters its second year of production in 2010 as one of the most radical expressions of sport and utility available today. It is offered with a choice of a 390-horsepower 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 (FX50) or with a 303-horsepower 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6 (FX35), along with available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (standard on FX50).

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP)* for the three available 2010 Infiniti FX models are:

                FX35 RWD         $42,400
                FX35 AWD         $43,850
                FX50 AWD         $58,400

For 2010, changes to FX include standard Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System on all models, the addition of a standard USB Connection Port for iPod® and other compatible devices, the addition of a 2.0GB Music Box® hard drive to the Bose® Premium Audio system (on vehicles without navigation) and simplified exterior/interior color combinations. FX’s available Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System has been enhanced for 2010 with the addition of an in-dash single disc DVD audio/video drive, streaming audio via Bluetooth®, Zagat® Restaurant Guide and XM NavWeather® (along with the previously available XM NavTraffic®).

Under the dramatically styled FX exterior, all models are equipped with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission, double-wishbone front/multi-link rear suspension and large 4-wheel disc brakes. Available FX driving aids include Distance Control Assist (DCA), which helps reduce the burden of driving in heavy traffic by intuitively prompting the driver to release the throttle and apply the brakes to maintain distance to the vehicle ahead; Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) systems, which helps the driver respond to an unintended lane departure; and Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), which helps alert the driver that a collision may be imminent and provides automatic braking to help reduce the risk of injury if a collision is unavoidable.

I don't understand the point of this article. WCF doesn't usually have an article for every single price increase, and this is the same car as the 2009 MY FX. And how are price increases good news for those in the market for this car?

I don't understand why they didn't put the 3.7L engine in this, and why they have a RWD version of it either. IMHO all SUVs, trucks, and the like should be AWD only.

FX went from Sexy to Creepy in one generation. I don't know but the serene, sultry looks of previous generation did not migrate to the next generation and it kind of looks like in your face, overly busy styling.

I don't understand why someone can design such a ugly car.
