Nissan Reveals New Micra Sketches
Future Global Compact Car Design
Nissan has released two design sketches of their upcoming global compact car.
While details are limited (Nissan didn't even name it in the press release), the car "will be first launched in Thailand in March 2010 and will be available in more than 150 countries."
Previous reports indicate that production of the NGCC (Nissan Global Compact Car) that will underpin the next generation Micra/March will occur at plants in China, Thailand, India, and two other "leading competitive countries."
Riding on a new A-platform or revised B-platform, the NGCC will likely be powered by a wide variety of fuel efficient engines including the 1.5-liter HR15DE (with 108 hp and 148 Nm of torque) and the new 1.2- or 1.3-liter XH5. Regardless of what's under the hood, Nissan has announced the car will be the first vehicle to qualify as 'Eco-car' in Thailand.
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd today revealed the sketch of its global compact car. This model will be first launched in Thailand in March 2010 and will be available in more than 150 countries.
At the same time, Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd announced that the model will qualify as Thailand's first "Eco-car." Thai Eco-car government policy is effective today and will help promote the development of energy efficient vehicles.
