The Cargraphic 997 Turbo GT RSC 3.6 faired quite well in a recent time trial, taking the crown of fastest sprinter in two races.  The car matched up against several of the hottest, most sought-after supercars in four sprint competitions.

In sprints against the Aston Martin DBS, Geiger Ford GT, Gumpert Apollo, Königsegg CCX-R, and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, the 997 took the title of fastest 0-100 km/h, posting a remarkable 3.0-second time.  The same car reached 0-200 km/h in 9.1 seconds.

But it was the Geiger Ford GT that reached 300 km/h first, hitting that mark in 22.8 seconds.  The same car had the best time going from 0-300-0 km/h, coming to a full stop at 30.3 seconds, a full half-second faster than the 997.

The full results were published in the October issue of the German magazine, Sport Auto.  Here they are:

Cargraphic's Straight Arrow

997 Turbo GT RSC 3.6 was the fastest sprinter from 0-100 and 0-200kph

Cargraphic set out to prove that exact settings of all the parts, as well as even power delivery and a kind clutch, are superior in many situations to just straight horsepower. The Landau tuner proved that during an exciting showdown called "0-300-0" kph - a name that speaks for itself. The acceleration from 0 to 100 kph was measured along with the 0-200 and 0-300kph times, followed by full braking from 300 to a standing start. So there are four events, with all counting towards the final result. A constellation of stars turned out, which cranked the tension up no end.

On the high speed oval in Papenburg the Who's Who of sportscars came together on the 5th September, with stock street heroes going against the cream of the tuner world. Here the Cargraphic 997 Turbo GT RSC 3.6 had to prove, what his 624 PS (459 kW) could really do. With a catapult of a start and the best time of 3.0 seconds to 100kph, the Königsegg CCX-R, Gumpert Apollo, Aston Martin DBS nor the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV could follow the tuned Porsche from Landau. Standard and other tuned Porsches with up to 700 PS (514kW) failed, too, even the 790 PS (581kW) Geiger Ford GT was no match for the Turbo to 100kph. Geiger did take the honours in the 0-300-0 category, with an overall time of 30.3s, but that was the only car to go faster than the Cargraphic GT RSC 3.6. Once again another proof, that meticulous adjustments in the test sections are worth as much as the long cooperation with the development partners Bilstein, Dunlop and RS Tuning. Little note on the side: Cargraphic joined the duel with a conventional 6-speed ‘box and went against the current trend to prove that pole position can come with a gearshift. And before 200kph Cargraphic still led the way. With a peerless 9.1s to the landmark speed the Landauer was 0.4s faster than the Geiger-Ford GT and Gumpert Apollo. On his way part 300kph the GT made the most of its 166 PS power advantage and passed the Cargraphic 997 Turbo with a time of 22.8s. With a total time of 30.8 seconds for all four runs and a deficit of 0.5 seconds a sensational second overall was sewn up and the Cargraphic Porsche had more than proved its credentials by setting two fastest times.

WOW, this are some fast numbers all around! is the 3.1 0-100kmh posted by the 997.2 turbo PDK, the stock 2010? if so that's smoking fast, quite abit more so then the Porsche claimed 3.5

Porsches are always faster than factory claims.

Go Lambo, didn't expect the SV to beat the CCX-R in 0-100Km/h!

why the cadillac, why not a ZR1? and get rid of the tuner cars lets see a test like this with stock cars all the badass cars being made right now!!!

I expected the ccx and the apollo to post faster times, specially b/c of the power to weight ratio of the apollo. I guess they need to work on the gearbox... a 0-100 km/h in 3.9 is unacceptable for an 800 and 700 ps car.

if you look at the picture , it's a Gumpert Apollo Speed, that car is geared for higher top speed, also from the way those guys are dressed, it looks like it was cold and wet, RWD cars don't accelerate good on cold/wet surfaces.

true that... good point just noticed that, i guess the porsche is quite impressive then with a 3.0 sec time in wet/humid track.

Those times are probably good for those cars on that very wet track. Lots of power and no grip. The wing on the ccx-r is fugly.

That stock 997 Turbo is really incredible. But I have to say, 0 to 100 is not the most meaningful yardstick anymore. Still holds its own up to 200 and 300, faster than the tuned Corvette by the way. Gumpert a bit dissapointing but the remark about the weather is to the point. I would also like to know which tires are used. Some key cars are missing: Zonda, Skyline, Ruf CTR3, ... Finally: the picture would probably be different if taking laptimes as comparing point and that is arguably more important than how they do on a dragstrip.

That PDK on the Porsche is crazy impressive.

How relevant is this without a Veryron or Ariel Atom present at the very least?

and to add to that fact(s) above that the 4x4 will aways do better off the line(as in 0-100), i would love to see the CCXR converted to 4x4 and then see the porsche try keep up with it

agree with most on here, the figures of the 997 TT MKII with PDK are nothing less than incredible. imagine this car with 650-700 BHPs. 0-100km/h in 2.6,2.7 are within reach.

0-100 in 3.1 is indeed a shocker, but the Wiesmann MF5 GT is also impressive.

Very nice numbers guys but it is not nice when you make a test without your main competitors such as 9ff,Ruf.... and especially when you are number one. WCF article about 9ff "All that power gets the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds. 200 km/h can be achieved in 8.7 seconds, while getting to 300 km/h takes 18.5 seconds." and so on... If you want to be the best you must play and beat the best.
