505 bhp and 1020 Nm of torque

Bentley has released a new promotional video for the range-topping Mulsanne luxury sedan.

Declaring they are "the opposite of mass production," Bentley says it takes more than two months to build a Mulsanne because more than 50% of the car involves handcraftsmanship. This leads to a lot of individual choices as Bentley offers 24 hides and 28 different exterior paint colors (114 with the 'extended range').

While Bentley has been mum on details, the company has recently confirmed the Mulsanne will be powered by a 6.75-liter V8 engine with 505 bhp and 1020 Nm of torque. The engine features cam phasing, variable displacement (it can idle four cylinders), and a new management system that can "actively adjust the V8's breathing." Backed up by an eight-speed automatic transmission, the updated V8 consumes up to 15% less petrol than the engine used in the Arnage.

actually looked a lot better than in the pictures, they really should have had those wheels on it at the unveiling, and in that colour, so much better than the display car. but still short in comparison to a rolls though.

looks good, guess bentley is about sportiness. if i were the potential buyer, i'll wait for the 'T' version with mirrored aluminum finish and dark wood like the previous azure final series. speaking about that, i miss the old cockpit of that car with that mad fighter jet centre console. the Insanne T' or the ghost? hmmm

I'm still confused, has it 4wd or not?

Very impressive video. And the front actually doesn't look as bad as in pictures, still not amazing though.

I know you will say i'm crazy but i like the Mayback more. even if some will consider it as a stretched merc but i love it. still this Bentley is nice but not better than the Phantom.

VW let the Brits do their thing here, this car is pure British.

Impressive, I think this car has more presence than the Phantom.

I think i'd choose this over the phantom, maybe because of its awesomeness or b/c it's sportier, less bulky and better looking!

Very nice Bentley, much more British than Continental Flying Spur!

But somehow I would rather have that new RR Ghost, last weekend I was at he Frankfurt and I had a opportunity to sit in both of them, really the same class but somehow Ghost is a little bit better!

The story doesn't ends, when I get in Maybach Zeppelin 62 I was totally impressed, the design inside is much more luxurious, those British cars are like old cars, much more traditional, but that Maybach is like a private jet! And engine is a class or two higher than those two from British opponents.

Well just wait for Bugatti 16C Galibier, that would change everything :)

I think this car is truly epic. A proper Bentley Motor Car. Its design, whether you like it or not, is true to the brand.

This is pretty nice to the current line up from Bentley, i like it more than the Phantom. But the Maybach is still king after all these years. My ultimate dream limo would be the Zeppelin 62, Guard option + the Brabus 6.3L V12 TT with 750hp and 1100nm of torque.

Nice car, it makes me wonder what if it is possible to get out almost the half of that torque from 3 litre engine.
