@Xanavi23: You're not the only one on this website. You better keep your trap shut if you have something mean to say about another nation. It's a-holes like you who maintain a view of hatred towards the other nation that keep the conflict alive. That stands for the Greeks and the Turks. I happen to be Turkish, but I don't hold anything personal against Greeks. I do hate people like you, however, not because you're Greek, but because you are an a-hole. If you have a cramp go sort it out elsewhere, because this isn't the place.

Db, its ironic that you're the first one to actually utter the word hate. I'll leave it at that though, because despite some of the foolish things you wrote, you actually managed to write something smart, this isn't the place for political issues. As such i remove the comment.

No real pain budd, if i wasn't a carfan i wouldn't check this site 4-5 times a day. As for childish anger...right. At least your point about this comment supposed to being about the cars or motorsports was spot on.

Xanavi, that was as childish and jealous as you could get... Bernie is not really interested in crowd numbers. He just checks his balance at the end of the day. So if he steps out, we should expect lower ticket prices and so higher spectator figures for countries like Turkey. Each country should be priced according to their general income levels, imho...

I'll give you childish...Jealous not really. Where i live, we have a damn fine track, and now that F1 was absent this year and might not make it back next year....it leaves us with scheduling weekends for much more sophistically governed forms of Racing. Hell we already have NASCAR and Rolex Sports Car series :)

You know, I've flown over to Istanbul twice to see the Turkish GP (2007+2008)... Once before Ecclestone bought the track, and once after... First off; Bernie Ecclestone is a freakin jackass! Everything the man does is basically a slap in the face to the fans... When I went in 2007 the Turkish GP was awesome! It was my first F1 race, and I couldn't have been happier about the experience... Everything was reasonably priced, and from what I saw, everyone there had a great time. The next year, after Ecclestone had gotten his filthy paws on the track, everything changed... First off, everything became less accessible to the average fan. All the ticket prices skyrocketed, along with concessions. To top it off, they cut out a lot of room for bus parking close to the track, because they used the closest parking lot for helicopter parking. I didn't even bother going this year, because I was so disgusted. Don't get me wrong, I know these F1 tickets are not cheep, but the whole sport needs to be more realistic! What sense does it make to alienate blue collar fans? We're the ones who buy everything! Case and point; bronze and silver level seating at Istanbul Park was filled the first couple years... The prices were reasonable enough that normal people could afford to treat themselves, and upgrade from general admission passes... Once "Old Gray Top Ecclestone" got into town, he gouged prices, and those people went back to general passes... The year after that, general admission was almost as much as what they'd previously paid for bronze level! So basically, BLAME BERNIE! He snatched up an absolutely beautiful track, and ruined it... Because he's greedy... The guy basically has $5 billion dollars, and he's only concerned with the people buying Paddock passes, and robbing the common folk blind! Maybe it's his retarded looking glasses that keep him from seeing how he's destroying F1...

Disregarding a couple of uneducated writers commenting on here just to make a comment at the first place, I think the track itself is very profound and fun. We all know drivers love the track. But with current ticket prices compared with monthly pension rates in turkey, its not easy for an individual to pay 120 dollars or even more for one ticket when an average person makes 400 500 a month. Its just too much and thats why a lot of spectators have to watch from tv. If the prices drop, they will definately see more people coming.

I am one of the writers who don't share your view. To a degree I am an educated person. I did my MBA at Harvard and I didn't like the Turkish Grand Prix at all.

Beginning in 2005, five Grand Prix races were held in Turkey so far. Did you watch them all and didn't like any one of them ? Or did you just watch the last one ? And what is your point ? Should it be dropped from the calendar because the last one you watched was loathsome and you didn't like it ?

What matters is the culture itself not the highest quality of construction made or to what degree your experience is. The soul is missing.
