Edmunds captured these pics of the Infiniti M37x and the M56 following the automaker's official virtual debut of the M-badged vehicle last August.  Although reporters for the site were able to take the cars on the road, they remained tight-lipped about the vehicles' capabilities.

The rear-wheel-drive M56 makes use of a 400+ horsepower 5.6-liter V8 engine, while the all-wheel-drive M37x gets the benefit of a 3.7-liter V6 that produces about 325 hp.  An automatic, seven-speed transmission should be standard equipment on either car.  A new screen for the navigation system is the focal point of the freshened up interior.

Not standard is the sport package, which the black M56 seen here is wearing.  According to the site, this M56 was riding on 20-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires.

Sometimes the exterior doesn't do justice but Infiniti interiors are right on mark. Very very exciting to sit in one.

I see some curves and design elements from Infiniti essence concept (which by the way has been one of the most exciting and realistic concept in a long long time, especially from the Asians)

Side lines actually look similar to Hyundai Elantra, not a good omen.

Like many new design languages the new Infiniti design language needs to be worked on, I'm sure that the next models will be better.

its really a remarkable achievment from the current M model... who would have thought the little hideous M sedan car will turn to have curves and lines like this one

Very disappointing. I really like the car from an engineering standpoint but it continues to look like it melted in the sun.
