Lexus LF-A Spied Undisguised in Black at Nurburgring / Copyright: CarPix

These new spy photos feature yet another version of the Lexus LF-A.  Now in Matte Black, we can see even more details on the car compared to the barely-camouflaged white model spied last week.

Taken on the Nurburgring, the black model shows very sharp contours at the front, almost making the vehicle look like it was already attacked by a tuner firm.  Some black tape is still used to mask details around the lighting, but the three-sectioned grille, front spoiler, hood vents, and new mirrors are perfectly visible.

Steep side sills lead to air intakes, which merge well with the rear wheel wells.  The back end's rear fascia is mostly complete, and shaped in a way that perfectly uses tri-exhaust pipes.  A rear diffuser looks to incorporate those pipes.  Also at the back, we get our clearest view of the rear LED lights, although still partially covered.

Expected to use a 600-horsepower 4.8-liter V10 engine, the Lexus LF-A should be one of the hottest debuts at next month's Tokyo Motor Show.

The car looks absolutely great, but I wonder how many people will be willing to pay the likely $100k for a Lexus supercar. Hopefully this will be the car that changes the brand's image.

Hmm, Recaro seats, can this be the racing version? Matte black supercars are awesome, hope that we won't see some douche bag giving it a chrome paint job.

A bit disappointed about the exterior. Not what I'd expect from the traditional simple-lined elegance of Lexus.

Just make the thing. I did like this, right up to the point where I saw the potential price tag.

I am just not a fan of the car. I would imagine with all this development that they have been doing that this car should handle and drive very well. Like the articles says "the black model shows very sharp contours at the front, almost making the vehicle look like it was already attacked by a tuner firm." That is what bothers me with the Japanese designs, they always seem like they add things like scoops, openings and wings after the thought. It makes the design look to over done. To some this is great but I prefer more organic, flowing lines to abrupt sharp lines.

$100k? I can see some people paying that much for this car. But the actual price is going to be around $250k. Now anyone paying that much for toyota/Lex has to be on crack.

love the car already. most europeans make fun of japanese cars because they cant match the reliability and performance of the asian. best full SUV = land cruiser best sedan = Lexus LS460 best mini suv = lexus RX350 best sport car = Nissan GTR so deal with it and start focusing on the crappy reliability of european cars insttead of making fun of well built japanese cars.

how many 20 year old asian cars so you see on the road? the most reliable car ever made is actually made by Mercedes-Benz, the w123, check the Guinness Book of World Records. the japs use very low quality steel, plastic, etc. meaning their cars will last and be quite reliable in the short term, but they're not going to last decades like the Benzes and Audis do. That's a simple fact.

gooniz, lol , try selling a used Japanese car in Europe, no one will touch it because they are crap and unreliable compared to European cars.

I like European cars but to be honest the only 20yr old cars I see are american cars and a guy who owns a 1987 Toyota Supra. I feel Japanese cars are reliable, however, I can only speak on MY experience wtih japanese brands. But regardless of what you say American, Japanese, European, Someone has had a bad experience so it's pointless to argue reliability.

Look at this car straight on at the front. Normally Toyota and Honda steal all their styling from the Germans. The only original designs they currently have are the really ugly ones: RX300, Venza and Yaris. This time they just made the front look like what a 2nd generation GTR might look like!!

This will be one of the most beautiful cars when it hit's the streets; there's not one bad angle about it! Nothings too distracting or even questionable; every thing fits perfectly, imo. What I especially love about this design is how they incorporated that line that runs down the front fenders and meets the front fascia and how they tastefully interrupt each other; very skillfully done! Overall, it takes on a less-is-more approach that's very deceiving at first glance. I applaud Toyota for building this car! Hate to say it, but I even think it looks even better than the new Ferrari 458.

to McNamara: w123 was great, did great things for Benz' reliability image... and then the w210 came along, ruining it again. to clk cpa: can you name a few carbon fibre bodied, 600hp V10's around the $100K mark?

McNamara68

i was responding to the argument made by "gooniz." i agree with you that the 210 was a disgrace to MB's image. i'm a mechanic and i can tell you the build quality was definitely sub-par on the pre-'06 models, they definitely cut corners. but to say that the japanese are on the whole make sturdier cars than the germans is absurd. if you haven't i would suggest taking a look at the new E, build quality is on par (if not better) than the 124.

I hope it'll smash the ring record, or at least doing within 7:24s. I'm sure Nissan would work very very hard to get their Spec V much much faster to kill both Lexus and Porsche !!

Actually, the japanese do make much more reliable cars as a whole. I can attest to that, as I have owned nothing but euros. From my experience to fellow BMW to Porsche enthusiasts will tell you the same. There are exceptions, but as a whole japanese cars are more reliable. Even some American cars are more reliable than euros. These are facts, ask around and you will see. "McNamara," and "Scratch996," need to come off the Euro Snob attitude and realize that German/European cars have faults too and they are not perfect. It's people like you that give car enthusiasts bad reputations. And to the mod or whomever stop deleting my posts!
