Our spy photographers have managed to get the first "on the road" pictures of Peugeot's 2011 408 sedan.
While the pictures don't provide many details, the 407 replacement is expected to adopt evolutionary styling tweaks to make it more contemporary and less awkward. Despite the new images, our best glimpse of the sedan still comes from earlier spy photos taken in a garage.
Riding on the same platform that underpins the Citroen C5, the Peugeot 408 should be slightly larger than the outgoing 407. As usual, a wide variety of petrol and diesel engines will be offered. A diesel-electric hybrid will eventually join the lineup, but information remains scarce.
In terms of technology, the 408 will likely feature a hydropneumatic suspension, adaptive headlights, and an available head-up display.
