The BRABUS Ultimate High Voltage is based on the smart fortwo. First seen at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show as a concept car called smart fortwo BRABUS Electric Drive few details were released. But now it looks set for production since BRABUS has released initial specifications.
Powered by a lithium-ion battery located under the floor and electric motors co-developed with Tesla Motors, the Ultimate High Voltage will do the 0 - 60 km/h (38.5 mph) sprint in 3.7 seconds and 0 - 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.8 seconds.
The key elements responsible for the pocket rocket's performance is the light body mass, and 61kW (82hp) and 280Nm of peak torque achieved at 0 rpm. One disadvantage with EVs is the lack of sporty exhaust vocals, so to compensate BRABUS equipped it with an artificial sound generator that can simulate engine sounds like American V8s or racing cars.
Building off of the Geneva concept's exterior body kit, the Ultimate High Voltage includes cream colored matte Tridionzelle paintwork, LED daytime running lights, beefy Widestar fender flares, Widestar side skirts and 18-inch wheels with transparent Plexiglas covers.
Interior comforts include processed white leather stitched with a yellow thread and a special instrumentation display monitor built into the lower center console for drivetrain and trip information.

And what happens when you stumble upon a corner in this baby car?
Dammit, you guys almost had me fooled for a second. Imagine if it did, lol.
and i agree with 911fnatic, it is odd to post a 0-60KPH time...
gentlemen, arent you sick of so many EVs? how many of you at elast 5 of the modern evs in your town/city? I BET NONE OF YOU. and how many of you will afford to travel so "green" when these cars are at the price of a full size sedan? how many of your parents will say "let's sell the volvo dear, and buy ourselves a nice EV from toyota....or nissan..or should we take the brabus smart with the tesla "bring world peace to africa and iran/iraq" engine? not my parents. and if my future children, decide one day to buy one of these, god forbid and please let this be my will, i will step on their little heads with my size 10+ boots.
No I go on and applaud Brabus for finally bringing an electric version of the Smartcar, although I would've liked to have seen a motor at each wheel. I can't wait to see what new electric vehicles come out in the near future.
That's ok, you can keep your American cars, all I know is that the only Fords/Chevrolet cars being sold in Europe are made in the UK and Korea respectively.
EV or not, your logic is flawed on a much more basic level of understanding. Small cars make sense, SUVs for road use don't so that effectively renders most of your American made cars irrelevant to the global market.
This just about sums up what's wrong with your way of thinking, enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo7U_bTsiC4&feature=related
