Could this be the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Superleggera? The "regular" Gallardo Superleggera was cancelled last year, but these shots caught by Autogespot fuels rumours a new iteration could be on the way.

The very lightweight model could keep Lamborghini to its commitment of introducing a new model at every big-time auto show in the near future; a difficult task, considering the state of the global economy.

A Superleggera model of the Gallardo came near the end of that car's life-cycle, just a year before the introduction of the Gallardo LP 560-4.  It had 520 horsepower 10 hp more than the "base model," while weighing 100 kg less.

If the car does not exist, we can certainly dream of a Lamborghini LP 560-4 Superleggera.

gallardos are awesome and looks great but they're starting to feel dated. if i were them, i'll tweak the interior and install those scissor doors

Not all lambos come with scissor doors, this one open sideways. The only scissor doors were diablo, countach, murcielago. Anyways, why are do we need a LP560 Superleggera? & adding 10 hp again? maybe they should do some facelift on this car before it becomes old.

Lamborghini reserves the "scissor" doors to its V12 cars. That's why the Murcielago has them and the Gallardo doesn't. I doubt they will spec' the next Gallardo variant with them.

I would like to see them introduce either a SL or SV version with reduced weight and rear wheel drive. Similar to the Balboni version minus some weight and more power.

Clearly you're not an "afficianado" if you didn't know not all Lambos have scissor doors.

520hp! What i know is the normal LP560 comes with around 540hp! but its ok as long its 100kg less, and that rear spoiler ruins the look of the car.

i hope it is not. imagine you just bought your very limited 250 VB edition and then they come out with a VB Superleggera one year later as another limited edition. you will be pissed.

that's what they did with the Gallardo SE, the first Gallardo had 500 HP , then they made the 250 units SE, Special Edition with 520 HP , then they put 520 HP in the regular Gallardo. that was a rip off.

if they make a VB Superleggera, it will be a better , faster, lighter, more expensive RWD Gallardo, not something exactly like the VB. something like the GT3 and GT3 RS.

I dont think thats what these pictures are of. They look exactly like the photos of the test mule for the LP550-2 VB. Plus this wouldnt be the LP570-4 SV because the Gallardo is not yet approaching the end of its life cycle. I actually wonder how long they intend on keeping the Gallardo around because in an interview with german auto magazine Automobilewoche Stephan Winkelmann says that they are creating a Gallardo hybrid for the year 2015. So unless this Gallardo's successor will utilize the same name, this car would be 11 years old.

That's true, and Lambo will continue to make slight improvements to sell more cars in this economic climate and in light of F458 and McLaren and SlS, so don't rule out a 570 or 580 with a new additional feature maybe.

The fact that it shares some componentry with the R8 is a factor as to why it could have an extended lifeline, SV or not, it is a new intepretation, SuperLeggera maybe.
