This engine benchmarked diesel engine refinement since its conception. A gem of an engine!

This is great news!
Turbo 4-Bangers are back!
Just PLEASE don't make the 3 even bigger than it already is... :(

Audi has the A3 2L TDI next month, not in 2012. The A5 has the 2L turbo quattro petrol as well. Sounds like too little, too late.

n a5 with an 4 cylinder is a laugh. 3 series out sells an a5 20 to 1. go figure

Why is a 4 cylinder a laugh on an A5? It's that attitude that has America way behind on car emissions. This perception of a big emission spewing, fuel chomping engine having to drive a larger car is way out of date. Most are also happy with 155kw in the 2.0 litre TSI turbo engine and don't need more. As to why the 3 series sell more than an Audi A5, it's simple and based on cost. You can get a base 3 series for a lot less.

"Sounds like too little, too late."
How can there be too little or too late, we can use all we can get. Is Audi afraid of the competition ?

Ok fusion01, I also think a 4 cylinder is not for an a5. A 240 hp 2.8 v6fsi would be a nice base v6 engine.
