Ferrari has released a 458 Italia configurator and a new promotional video which shows the car's racing abilities.

While there's nothing groundbreaking about the configurator, it will likely placate your fantasy for Italian exotics. Users can choose from 26 different exterior colors, two 20-inch wheel designs, and five brake disc caliper colors.  Inside, visitors can build an exclusive interior that reflects their personal sense of style.

With your dream car created, check out the video to see two 458 Italias doing 'hot laps' around Italy's Mugello racing circuit.

As we have previously reported, the 458 is powered by 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces 570 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The massive V8 is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which enables the car to rocket from 0-100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds. If you keep your foot planted, the Italia will eventually top out somewhere in the neighborhood of 325 km/h (202 mph).

A very dynamic video to say the least. Love the camera direction and a new shot that was sweet was a shot of the front right coming from the undertray. damn intensely exciting video. Now do I like the car? not too sure.

It will be interesting when the new Mclaren hits showrooms in late 2010 early 2011.

having seen this car in real life at the Frankfurt show this week, I can tell all you haters- you'll eat your hearts out when you see it live in the flesh. The car is absolutely stunning.

damn, when the first photos were realeased I thought it is great looking car, but now my feeling turned 180 degrees. It looks awful, nowhere near as good looking as the 360.

What is SO jaw dropping about this!?! This car doesn't look as good as past ferrari's. It looks like a hyhundi

it's the first Ferrari with the interior looking better than the exterior. also it's the first Ferrari i would not like to own, it's too ugly.

I love the interior, exterior... not so much.

This video is very intense. It honestly seems more like it would be a video for Lamborghini's instead of Ferrari's. I like this direction though. Great video.

the video is awesome... but the car in itself is just too ugly, nothing as pretty as the 360.

Does Anyone Know Why The Vent's Or Gaps Above The Headlights Are For?

Its still an ugly car, particularly the rear *puke*. Not a huge fan of the Playstation interior either.

This car is just too luxurious.

Still not conviced by the rear, but the front is stunning. But is it a Ferrari... I'm not sure.

PS: I really disliked the 360, it was the first to kill my 80s view of a Ferrari Berlinetta (308 through 355)

everyone has an opinion and thats fine but for those who have seen this thing in person, like myself at frankfurt, you will be blown away by its beauty. to my eyes it is stunning. pictures and videos seen through a computer screen will never do it justice.

I can't wait to see the F458 Italia vs. the McLaren MP4-12C at the hands of the 'Stig' in the Top Gear show.

After the highly dramatic front end, the rear may seem a bit of a disappointment until you drive it and you find yourself forgiving it for its foibles. At long last, a stunningly beautiful Ferarri since the watershed F355. Yellow mellow or Rosso Red? I'll take both please. Hark! The herald angels sing indeed. Only Ferarri does a V8 soundtrack like this! So, why consider reverting back to turbo power? Bellissimo!
