It seems nowadays chrome on the wheels is not enough. The stuff has moved into all sorts of places and in this example it spread to the exterior like a wildfire. The car is the Audi R8 V10 with a 386kW (525hp) naturally aspirated 5.2-litre FSI engine. They say it will cover 0 - 100km/h in 3.9 seconds but they probably didn't count on all this heavy bling covering things up.

Apart from the extra weight, how practical would it be to put this on the road? Consider the shiny sun in most parts of the world, or the glaring headlights at night. Forget using it as a getaway car; any orbiting satellite would probably pick it up in an instant.

In a supercar? Why not? I won't be ashamed to drive it.

Not a big fan of the chrome paint (don't get me wrong, I would drive the hell out of it). It's just hard to see the lines of the car. You know?

chrome or polished aluminium matches well with audi's image cars.

I always want a full chrome car, especially this one and it does match their ASF thing, I hope someone will buy one.

chrome cars looks cheap normally, but it somehow looks great on the R8.

I remember Liberace had a Rolls Royce covered in Mirror tiles and the state of Nevada banned him from driving on the street because of glare.

This is not mere "bling."

Does no one remember the Audi Avus Quattro that was revealed at the 29th Tokyo Motor Show? Polished aluminum is something Audi should trademark. Here, Audi is literally highlighting its Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology and paying homage to the 1991 concept car.
