The 2011 Infiniti QX is well on its way as these new spy pictures make the case. Weirdly the images show a very close resemblance to the next-generation Nissan Patrol (called the Safari in some markets). Apart from different front and rear ends as well as wheel arches, the two could very well be the same vehicle. Some observers have noted that the design is adapted from the Terranaut Concept car presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show while others recognise vehicles like the Ford Flex and Kia Soul.

Power is likely to be sourced from the Infiniti FX50's 5.0-litre V8 which has 287kW (390hp). Critics have said since the current QX56 is based on the highly capable Nissan Titan, its ride comfort is not up to par with competitors like the Lexus LX. Therefore some improvements are expected on that front.

The interior will no doubt improve too but there is doubt as to whether it will take the Terranaut's futuristic look or not.

Because there's no camouflage to speak of we can look forward to seeing the new QX at one of the soon-to-come international motor shows.

Thanks to V for the tip!

does anyone else see an OVERSIZED, GIGANTIC resemblance of the kia soul from the front 3/4 picture? LOL. other than that this thing looks good... compared to the one it replaces. looks more lively. however, why are they still making these kind of behemoths? lol

This thing has reached a near Escalade level of ghettofabulousness. Potential owners will be delighted that Infiniti has already provided them with crappy-plastichrome-Buick-Roadmaster-imitating-front-fender-vents, thereby saving them an unnecessary trip to the Wal-Mart air-freshener-and-$25-spinner-hubcap-isle to purchase said items.

I'm agree with Grave, this car looks like a bulldog and this thing is as big as shit,no one looks for full size SUVs anymore.

Hero Sina, speak for your region. In markets where fuel prices are not an issue people still buy big SUV's.

The "thing" is hideous. Hopefully it's just a twisted joke by Infiniti. On which planet does this look better than the GL?

In my opinion the GL and LX570 are the best full size SUV.

At the front end she's a beaut-A Masculine, clean front end without any odd bulges. Would have been better executed without the 'chinky' stretching headlight eyes. I'm alittle worried the side profile looks like a giant Ford Flex/wagon but have to see it in person. Unfortunately the rear 1/4 becomes schizophrenic as it copies RAV4 and LandCruiser. Infiniti, you found your style in the front-fix the rest and then move to the FX35 and re-engineer it until it is right.

Very nice. Clean and modern design; much more interesting than a GL although it's just to personal tastes and preferences that I'd take the German car over the Japanese car any day. Looks very much like a Lexus LX as well, but not nearly as drab.

It looks different and luxurious. Looks like an Aston Martin suv concept adaptation. Want to see it live.

Ugh...It looks like a chinese copy of a Land Rover Discovery 3. The same slab-like sides and box-like rear.

it looks like a stretched infinite EX ! i would buy the LX570 over this ugly SUV.... since there are many SUVs and infinities here in Dubai...i wonder if it would keep its sales up despite looking very ugly

I like Infinity but I don't think this is a good job. I expect more from them especially with the "M" concept and all. However I never understood why you need to make luxury SUV's. Why get this when you can get an Armada which is cheaper
