Redefines style, elegance, and insanity

With Mercedes and McLaren battling for supercar supremacy at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the long-rumored Lamborghini Reventón Roadster had become a bit of an afterthought - until now.

Like the original Reventón coupe, which debuted in Frankfurt two years ago, the roadster redefines style, elegance, and insanity. Designed to be a stealth fighter for the road, the Reventón boasts jet-inspired carbon fiber body panels and aggressive 18-inch wheels. Inside, the roadster is decked out in alcantara upholstery and carbon fiber trim.

While details are limited, the roadster will likely be powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 650 HP (478 kW) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque. Backed up by a six-speed e-gear transmission and standard all-wheel drive, the Reventón will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. If you keep your foot planted, the roadster will top out somewhere in the neighborhood of 340 km/h (211 mph).

Production will likely be limited to 20 units and prices are expected to start at 1.2 million Euros ($1,750,000 USD).

Still nice, but not as exciting as it would have been had it been released 12 months ago. Will be interesting to see what Audi's product planning for Lamborghini will be. No accurate time frames are available!

Lamborghini just keeps on gaining respect on my book- in the age of cookie cutter automobiles and companies like McLaren releasing blend "supercars" it's nice to see someone going against the grain and releasing a proper supercar- an outrageous V12 priced in the millions. Thumbs WAY up.

lambo's limited edition is quite not limited... this is perhaps the 5th or 6th limited edition they launched in a year... just put on some different color, a new kit, a soft top, a bit faster engine etc... wa la ... another limited edition..

there is still the original reventon at dealer waiting to be sold... i think 20 units is more than enough... the new 997 turbo and 428 italia can do 3.4s 0-100 too... what's the big deal

It would be funny if someone make a kit for a Murcielago (LP640)Roadster to reassemble a Reventon Roadster

Lambo is more than any other companies in producing excellent roadsters.

Lambo's roadsters are as good as, if not better, than the coupe version.

Pure sickness. This IS a supercar indeed. I am a true Ferrari fan but Lamborghini's design has dominated for the past several years. Ferrari needs a new bacth of designers or something revolutionary. The bulk of its recent models have been subpar in the design dpt. in my opinion. The Ferrari majic needs revitalizing. The 458 has a fantastic rear end but the front is a miss perhaps. Lamborghini's effortless synthesis of luxury, quality & brutal, innovative design is superb. When a Lambo comes a roarin' down the street it's pure drama. No matter how many times I see the Murcielago, it's as good as the first time though it's about 7 years old..of course all of the fantastic updates lent aid, how about that LP & SV ?!?!

I love this car! I agree the hardtop is better aestetically but there is nothing like having 200 million miles of head room in a Lamborghini.

This thing just looks like it flies... in SPACE!!! This car for me defines Hypercar, it looks insane, it's so well detailed, it can't be mistaken for anything else and of course it goes like stink! Ferrari may make the better car and I'm sure the Murcie SV is overall a better performer, but this thing should be on kids bedroom walls, just as the Countach was on mine!
