it looks kinda like a mixture of the old mclaren and the old lotus esprit to me.
looks great, because its design looks so simple, so pure.
beautiful car.

wow.. i am dreaming of F458 vs Merc SLS vs MP4 - 12C..
3.8 Ltr producing 600 hp and 600 nm , that is more than the ferrari or sls, what about the weight ? The exterior design is kind of boring, but the specs number are the point of interest here

F458 vs SLS is apples vs oranges, F458 is a sportscar , SLS is a GT.

Sory to say, but it doeas look bold parked next to McL F1. I expected something outrageous from a company like this, but we got a car that looks like it was build by "ANY" small supercar manufacturer. Shame. Looking forward for F1 replacement.

That wing is huge & why is WCF slow on updates, Autoblog has given update on this mclaren & the new SLS AMG coupe. Anyways, I'll take the Mercedes SLS AMG since its better look than this weird mclaren & got some looks from the gallardo rearend, Fisker frontend lights & those exhaust are in the weird place.

Prince Ash is right it is a 'classic' design but I think it has a very up to date feel especially at the rear. And even if nobody can agree if it is a wothy successor to the F1 it has one thing going for it - it does not look like an R8!!! As to the figures, who cares - we want to see what time the Stig can do a lap of the Top Gear track in & then off to the Ring to eat some Porkers and rice burners.

Very aggressive & elegant + the perfect design upgrade from the Previous F1.
I can't wait to see it on the streets

Doesn't wow me aesthetically like the Italia did, but entering an age where "car" is becoming a dirty word its understated looks could become important.
I don't like brash so I should want this more than the 458. Oddly though I don't.

looks like a kit car. pretty boring. the performance is good for 2009 , but unspectacular for 2011. i was expecting more from McLaren.

Normal people might mistook it for a Lamborghini. Not special enough. But I regret they did not copy the three seat layout from the F1. So not only did McLaren get the Ferrari F1 Documents in 2007 they got the Road Car stuff as well.
Having said that.. But with the monocell, the turbo engine and chassis it appears to be one generation ahead of the Italia. This car definitely will sell because of the McLaren brand; but I'm still with the Ferrari 458 Italia, but my interest is growing on this babyMac and whatever Lamborghini is available in 2011
Could they get a better way of calling it of not sounding like a electrical appliance?

I love the McLaren F1, nothing comes close. If you look closely (roof line) at the new McLaren, it looks very similar to a Lambo Gallardo or Audi R8. Like scratchy996 said... I was expecting more.
