The urban stylishness of the Fiat 500 combined with the pure performance know-how of Ferrari? That just may be the proverbial match made in an Italian automotive heaven that will appeal to many, many people.

Unfortunately, there may not be enough of such a car to go around. Ferrari and Fiat's performance division Abarth have partnered for a limited edition series based on the Fiat 500 - to be called the 695 Tributo Ferrari.

But the car definitely aims to bring new meaning to the term hot hatch. For starters, the 695 will come in the traditional Ferrari color of Scuderia Red.

Performance will be boosted by means of a 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol/gasoline engine dialed up to 180 hp coupled to an F1-style 6-speed transmission with paddle-shift function. Suspension tuning will compliment the increase in power and a set of red Brembo brakes will sit behind the 17-inch alloy wheels made special for the occasion, referencing classic Ferrari design.

The interior cabin gets carbon fiber seats dressed in black leather while the steering wheel trim comes with red inserts to make for a true Ferrari color contrast of red on black.

More details such as pricing and the number of models to be produced are sure to follow when the 695 Tributo Ferrari debuts at the Frankfurt motor show next week.

This has got to be the prettiest and the most desirable fiat on production to date. What does the 695 means?

Is Ferrari running out of ideas making special editions? Lamborghini may have their Valentino Balboni, hey why don't you try this for a size?

this car is so beautiful but i'm tired of 500 special models.i think the special models in streets are more than normal version.Fiat take a big breathe and then come back and make a limited edition model again.and then a bigger breathe ....

Can't wait to see people replace the Abarth badges with Ferrari ones. Like the Dino.

This actaully looks good, suprising. But the quad exhaust is a bit over the top.

I'm going to have to agree with you...something about the quad exhaust is just not right...maybe a center exit one like a Scuderia would've been more appropriate.

But otherwise this car is as exciting as a little car can be...

I WANT ONE. quite probably the only car i would ever own in ferrari red, since i find that color awfully cliche and superbly tacky on actual ferraris... i mean, the ferrari red could be the patone color for 'nouveau riche'. but painted in the cute little cinquecento? plain cool, almost sarcastic and ironic. cool, cool, cool.

I like it but I think it should have a slightly larger engine and it should be a ferrari created engine. (like the Maserati's utilize for example)

Great answer to any Cooper Works MINI from BMW! Ferarri engine will almost snuff out Pan European competition. This I can drive and not feel small time.
