600-700 hp for 246,000$ not bad at all. but about 2015,that's too late,i mean how long can it takes to be in production line?

"spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 supercar going head-to-head with the Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari 458 Italia." - i would not call that a spiritual successor of the F1.

i just read an article on car magazine's website in which they interviewed Gordon Murray and he predicted that this car would be a "huge disappointment." Apparently he is set to build one more supercar. This looks good to me though, granted, i think all super cars are pretty cool.

Hmm, looks good, but you have higher expectations from a McLaren. This looks unfinished and a bit boring.

Lets see how good it is. but it should be better than a Porsche 911 turbo and a Ferrari 458 Italia and if not it will really be a huge disappointment.

looks good so far, but its a mclaren, so it has to go over 250 or itll be a disappointment. and it should compete w/ the bugatti veyron.

i don't think it will compete with the Veyron , the Veyron is a luxury GT , the McLaren will probably be a sportscar.

Guys. This particular car will not be a direct replacement for the McLaren F1. This particular car will compete with the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo. McLaren will introduce future cars that will compete against the higher end car, and will be the deemed a replacement for the F1. Don't expect a Veyron competitor this round.

correct me but I look at this and I think Lotus Evora? not a mclaren super car.

If you look at the old F1, the priority was function, not form. Same goes here.

this looks dated already, i hope one of the two other cars planned before 2015 will be a replacement for this! it really does look like an odd reincarnation of the lotus Evora! this car needed to be ridiculously pretty or strange and unique... and i dont think its either... i see a flop on the cards. although the brake steering is cool, but ide rather get another car in a few years with it... not this.

6.0 l v8... it is not even in the same class with the 911 and the 458. maybe the price, but not the engine. plus it is pig ugly compared to the original f1 and i believe it will be slower. id put this as an r8 competitor.

It's actually powered by a McLaren developed 3.8L v8, that revs to 8500 rpm!
