Valencia would welcome GP date change
Valencia would welcome a late June race date on the 2010 formula one calendar, the mayoress of the Spanish port city Rita Barbera has confirmed.
On an apparent copy of a provisional calendar that did the rounds in the Spa-Francorchamps media centre last weekend, the European grand prix venue has been moved from a hot August date this year to June 27 next season.
Barbera told the Spanish news agency EFE that late June is a "magnificent" time for Valencia to host formula one because it will not be as stiflingly hot.
She said she would support the date change to June 27 "totally".
