Ferrari 458 Italia In Motion [Video]

Love it or hate, it seems most WCF readers cannot get enough of the F458 Italia - neither can we. Here is the first video (amateur) of substance that we have seen of the F458 in motion. Although still camouflaged, we see a somewhat steady panning shot as the F458 rumbles down the road as well as a close up before entering the gates of Maranello HQ.

They should have done something to make the test driver really get on it so we could hear what the heart of this thing sounds like and high rev. I am still not sold on the looks but cant wait to see what this thing does in performance tests. Sure looks like a double diffuser on this thing.

i don't think its the ugliest... its a step forward in the future. ur just not used to it yet. haha yes its a little funky here and there... aka 3 tail pipes, funky front air vents on the lights, weird looking rear..... BUT, they all have a purpose i bet. so lets live with it haha i bet it performs very well

Who gets a heart attack in their grave? Anyway, I'm happy that this Ferrari's styling was dictated by aerodynamics and not perceived style like the California. Because that tries too hard. The rear end of that car is just awful. This one, on the other hand has a slightly weird front end, but one you will forgive because of what it does technically. The rear is even better, in my opinion - with the split-up taillights reminding me of the Enzo and adding width. But the best bit, unarguably, is the interior. Wow. I haven't seen a cockpit that awesome since the '80s.

i trully agree with you motorjedi...the styling is for technical reasons, ferrari is well known because of their speed and technical achievement not for styling...and the cockpit is like a fighter jet cockpit..superbly oriented for the driver... screw the passenger, you can kick him/her out of that ferrari..he/she just adds more weight...i want to see more performance figures compared to the f430 scud and the gallardo 560 - 4

Stop complaining, this has to comply with the ever stricter European standards of not only emissions, but pedestrian collision too - in due time legislation will require all cars to look like a marshmallow. Kudos to Ferrari STILL trying to make a great car, despite all the challenges the new world order is trying to put in front of them.

I can't wait to see one on the road. I think it will have almost as much visual presence as the Enzo does.. without the pricetag. This car is tops in my book. Evolution from the 360 to 458 is pure perfection, and I'm not even a Ferrari fan. Interior layout is exquisite. This will be the slowest Ferrari because the owner can just sit and admire the cockpit. I think it just needs an extra side vent somewhere.
