With a Concorde Agreement now in the bag, normal August service has resumed in formula one as talk about the 2010 driver 'silly season' bounced around the Spa-Francorchamps paddock on Thursday.

Apparently the 'key' to the market is Fernando Alonso, as all wait with bated breath to know if and when the Spaniard's Ferrari move will be formalised.

"Who knows," he teased reporters in Belgium on Thursday.

"In formula one at the moment it is difficult to know which team has the better future because every week there are rumours about teams coming in or going out."

Pressed for when an announcement about his plans might be forthcoming, the double world champion answered: "We're still thinking and evaluating some possibilities, so we will see. Maybe next week is too early."

With the impending departure from F1 of BMW, Robert Kubica is tipped as the man most likely to replace Alonso.

But he had no news to tell the media in Belgium.

"It is just too early a stage and also there is no final decision from my side so there is nothing," said the Pole.

Kubica's teammate Nick Heidfeld is also looking for a drive. "I hardly know anyone who does not believe that Alonso is going to Ferrari," the German said on Thursday, "but I have to say I don't know it 100 per cent.

Nico Rosberg is expected to switch from Williams to McLaren, but he said he expects the 2010 silly season to "drag on for a while yet".

"In the near future there will be probably little movement," he predicted.

Said the 24-year-old: "I am very content with the alternatives that I have."
