Nice interior colors. The japanese are the once who started with the hybrid, but there aren't any small engines to be found in this. The engine of the is350 would be a nice base engine, not lower than 240 hp.

August 26, 2009 7:35 pm
You're insane. In what respect did the Japanese always make better cars than Germans.

The most underrated luxury car. I honestly prefer it over an S-class and 7 series. Much more classy.

yeah, i love fake looking wood, Toyota parts, mushy ride quality and body roll like an 70s lincoln, really classy . . .

The styling of this car always reminded me of a Camry. Now with those new rear lights, it looks more than ever like one. Still, a pretty decent car.

LEXUS - L uxury EX ports to the US ...
Guess it really appeals to Americans then - if they can afford it.

That meaning of the name is old news, like the idea your trying to bring, Lexus evolved, it's a global brand now, and it's recognized by people all over the world for it's qualities.

I really don't know why you people hate Lexus! This is a great car, luxury and comfortable. I like the interior style of this car. and Sorry for saying this but it looks better than the 7 series. and the LS600h is the best luxury hybrid car.

the problems with your post are:
1. yes, the ls460 is a nice luxury car--quiet and serene with good gadgetry. however, so do its competitors. and unlike its competitors, the ls offers a sedate and derivative styling that makes the car literally vanish when sitting next to its rivals*. it does not help that its styling is very close to that of the camry.
2. the interior reflects too much of the older flagship luxury sedan design philsophy: put all the features you can in a car and make sure the owner knows this when he stares onto the dashboard. whereas the germans have cleaned up there dash designs (the s-class, especially, with its very elegant center console), the ls460's interior is still cluttered with so many buttons for all those functions similar to the older s-class or even the older ls430.
3. i find it hard to believe that the "best luxury hybrid car" is one that doesn't perform much better (if at all) than its lesser ls460 sibling. its mileage is even similar to the ls460's. now to make matters worse, lexus marketed the ls600h as their answer to the v12-powered europeans by having the performance of a v12. this is not the case. despite a 438hp v8 being assisted by 389hp motors, the ls600h is comparable to the ls460 as well as the other v8 europeans. it is certainly no match for the v12 s600 and 760li. the disappointing mileage and performance is most likely due to the the extra heft that the ls600h carries as a result of the hybrid powertrain. and how is fuel economy supposed to be improved by using an even larger 5-litre v8 than the normal ls460's 4.6?
so, given that the ls460 can be had with all the luxury amenities of the ls600h, has pretty much the performance of the ls600h, and has a mileage even near it, what, then, is the real advantage to spending the extra for the "h" badge? even ls600h's other key difference, an awd system, is now available on the ls460.

Why people hate Lexus...? Put very simply so a 10 yo can understand (bit like the Persidents message)
A: NO driver enjoyment.
B: Plus Americans - No driving skills
The two match perfectly!
96% of all cars sold in the USA are AUTOMATICs. In Europe automatics are for:
1). The Elderly
2). The handicapped
3). American tourists!
Go figure

I thought I'd never see the day when Lexus took design queues from Hyundai (Genesis that is). Looks good to me. The Genesis still looks better than the LS IMO.

I recently been in quite a few Lexus (RX,IS,GS) and the only thing all of them are good at is being exceptionally quiet.
I still see Toyota switches, Toyota steering wheel, the leather are fake, the wood are all plastic, the "aluminium" are plastic, the ride of the new RX is poor even compare to a Volvo XC90, I'm sorry, but calling Lexus a luxury brand is like calling Porsche Panamera beautiful, just a load of bulls**t

Back to topic, the only thing I see new here are new front bumpers and wheels and that's it
August 27, 2009 1:54 am
i really think they made it look MORE like a toyota which i think is a bad move, since by creating this universal theme( across the Lexus brand) the LS which is their most luxurious offer will not be distinguished between its sisters especially while it looks now more like an ES which i personally dislike

I love it when people who can't afford a high end vehicle always have a negative comment to make.
September 9, 2009 12:31 pm
These anti-Lexus comments are comical - not only for their juvenile, cliched arguments, but also for the butchering of basic english in the process of presenting those stale arguments.
