The wind-blocker looks awfully like a weird windscreen mounted spoiler, but if it does the job...
At least you can't see it from the inside.

I really don't like the E-class, sedan, coupe and now convertible. Sure a lot of people will like/buy it just because of the badge but it's plain ugly. Actually drove the E500. Also a let-down, what a boat...

i still can't face the fact that it is actually based on a c-class and not the e-class. it's a c-class cabrio then with an e-class coupe pricetag.

it's also terribly impractical. i loved the shape, so i went for a test drive. i'm about 6ft 2 and i don't fit in the coupe with the panoramic roof. i don't have the same problem in the A5 or 3 Coupe. i think Merc have dropped the ball a little bit with this one

Im 6' 2" and i fit in fine. There is something known as a seat height adjuster!

Only the coupe is good looking, others are all ugly... Merc got its styling wrong again

I don't know why people still are complaining about the c class platform. Do the same people complain about the 6 series being on the 5 series platform? The e coupe is on the c platform so that it can be smaller and nimbler then the sedan. Aside from that, u can't tell that it's a c class: the interior looks like an e class, the styling looks like an e class, the features are from the e class, and the drivetrain is e class (5.5 v8). Best of all, it's priced lower than the e sedan. So what's the problem?

problem is that BMW isn't trying to charge 7-Series prices for a 5-Series by calling it a 6-Series.
Merc is doing EXACTLY that by calling the C derived car an E-Coupe.
also, have you seen the interior? it's taken straight from the C-Class, not the E. it's also not priced significantly lower than the E-Class. Compare the old gen CLK and E-Class for example!

but bmw is, however, charging the 6 series more than a comparable 5 series. and i don't see why bmw ever would charge a 6-series with 7-series prices. the 6 was never meant to be a 7-series coupe. what it is, is a bmw series that is above the 5; it's in between the 5 and the 7, which it is, price-wise, despite sharing the platform of the former. so if pricing discrepency among similar car platforms is an issue, why do people complain about the e-coupe and not this one? it's the same idea: take the platform of one sedan, make a coupe out of it, and market it at a higher level than the sedan from which it is based. hell, why not complain about the infiniti line-up? all their cars save for the qx ride on one platform. and of course the e-coupe can't be too much cheaper than the sedan, they are supposed to be in the same class, after all. but it is cheaper. it's even cheaper than the clk it replaces.
also, how is the interior of the e-coupe:
http://autotradercafr.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/e-coupe-interior1.jpg
looks less like the e-sedan's interior:
http://images.thecarconnection.com/lrg/2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-interior-leak-001_100191216_l.jpg
and more like the c-class' interior:
http://homepage.mac.com/bruce_garrett/photos/mercedes_c-class_interior.jpg
the center console (except the shifter) and gauge cluster are from the e-sedan. the entire dash was designed to be more like the e-sedan than the c-class. the seats are unique to the e-coupe. the door panels are a mix between the c and e classes. so how is the interior "taken straight from the c-class"?
people here are too hung up on platform sharing. maybe they should, at least, learn what platform sharing really is before they complain about it. there is nothing wrong with doing this so long as it is done well. and both the e-coupe and the 6-series are good examples of platform sharing. and to quote car and driver:
"So we?ll go along with the name change. Because after all, if it LOOKS like an E-class and DRIVES like an E-class, it?s pretty FAIR TO CALL IT AN E-class."

Where have u guys been, it has already been annound that the E-Coupe is mostly based on the E Sedan platform. The only thing adapted from the C is the front suspension and that is not a bad thing!
sub39h - What number vision glasses do you wear, how can you say the interior is from the C. The last time i check and many will agree its like the E Sedan.

Don't know if it's too late for this but the 650i coupe is priced at $78,450 with the 750i priced at $82,000. Almost a $4,000 difference, about as much difference as the outgoing CLK and E.
