Teams disagree over KERS rules for 2010

Some formula one teams are continuing to press for KERS to be removed from the 2010 technical regulations.
Next year's rules were published by the FIA earlier this week and the availability to use the energy-recovery technology remains.
The F1 teams' association FOTA, however, decided earlier this year to enter into a gentleman's agreement to not fit KERS systems to their cars in 2010.
But an awkward element to the situation is that Williams and Force India, and the new F1 teams, are not FOTA members and are therefore not bound by the FOTA ban.
Williams in particular is developing a KERS system and have not ruled out racing it in 2010.
At a meeting of the Technical Working Group at Valencia on Wednesday, the teams voted on the issue of KERS for 2010 and it is rumoured that three teams - Williams and two of the new entrants - said they want to keep the technology in next year's rules.
"The procedures in the Technical Working Group now are that majority decisions go forward to the F1 Commission, and the F1 Commission votes on whether they want the recommendations or proposals to become regulations," said FOTA's technical chief Ross Brawn on Friday.
The teams' desire to have KERS removed from the 2010 rules will therefore now move on to the F1 Commission.
"It's just part of the process and we will see where it goes," Brawn explained.
