Ugly or not, I'm still unable to comprehend why they make dozens of versions of the same car with different trim and then applaud themselves about making it 0.05 seconds faster from 0-60 and 1.05MPH faster at the top end...

i bet the 3.8RS is significantly quicker if not more rewarding to drive than the previous 3.6RS - but my it is god awfully hideous from its ugly details that appears to look like a cheap aftermarket parts you might find in small saxo hot hatches as well as the two tone colour. the previous 997 3.6 GT3 RS is truly a modern classic. what's wrong with porsche design these days?

form follows function , that was always Porsche's mantra.

The pre-facelifted decals and color scheme was much nicer, but 450hp for a 3.8L NA engine is a great achievement. Just wodering if they can manage to shave even more weight than the last RS.

the paint is just paint, it can be changed and altered, the RS is more a race version without using turbos, thats why there is so many models within the 911 range. for me its a hard option of buying the gt3 or the gt3 rs, depends what you want from the cars, the rs has more set up options

rude boy... this is not a car you might like to race out of your favourite mcdonalds car park... this would be significantly faster around a track than the other variations.

Agreed, that paint job is garish to say the least. It's a shame, because the RS should set you out from others as being discerning, but the appearance of this says the exact opposite.

Awful paint job + "Top Gearish" GT3 RS sticker at the rear + Orange checker Decal/stickers everywhere-- overall the car looks like a XXL Renault Megane RS!

very nice. it's the first time the RS is more powerful than the normal GT3. i didn't think they would find more HP in that old engine.

GTR gonna go down to this car on the ring laptimes, just wait and see. I agree about the colors been horrible, this is probably made to notice the differences between old and new.

Porsche post real Ring times, this car won't be faster on the Ring than the claimed GT-R time, but it will be faster on all the other tracks and independent tests. the current normal GT3 is already faster than the GT-R on many race tracks.

totally agree with catchmyshadow. i got a lot of respect for the gt-r, but the gt-r is..well a gt..easy to drive.. the porsche right here is a race car!

I love the paint job! this grey color is fantastic and that new red livery is just outstanding and agressive, also GT3 RS sign on both sides is cool! The stats are superb and I am hardly waiting to try one, this is the purest racing 911 ever so maybe is time to sell my 997 GT3 (2007) and take this one!

@LMS, There are currently only two GT3 models, the standard 435hp GT3 and the hard-core 450hp GT3RS. Performance is more than acceleration and top speed, the handling has also been improved.

You don't seriously believe that this car will go around a track faster than 0.X seconds than a "normal" 911 GT3, or a 911 GT2? (Which costs more by the way) I'm sure the people who are fortunate to buy this car will feel all the more pleased that their lap times have gone down by that much... Noticed anything else? The 911 prefix... on 15 versions... of the same car...

so , what's the problem, LMS ? how many Mustangs, Corvettes and Camaros are there ? GT, SS (for Hitler fans), Z28, convertible, targa, grand sport, etc. all versions of the same car... i'm sure if there is demand you will see more versions of those muscle cars. at least all the 911 models are different , they don't just put some stickers and call it a different model. i'm looking at the Corvette...

 scratchy996 scratchy996
and yes , the GT3 RS will be more than 0.x seconds faster than the GT3, maybe even faster than the GT2. the standard carbon ceramic brakes alone will shave a few seconds on a track, not to mention less weight, more power, more focused suspensions, wider track, more downforce, shorter gear ratios, improved stability management, standard active engine mounts, etc. this is the closest thing you can get to FIA GT3 racing.

Scratchy Stalin, you assume that because I don't see the purpose in 15 911s, I find one in 6 Corvettes... Seeing as you can justify just about any Porsche, I'm willing to bet you 1 month of silence that it won't be faster than the GT2 and that it won't be more than 0.x seconds faster than the GT3. What do you say?

the models are based on demand and offer.there are 51 models of the BMW 3 series. do you think BMW would make the cash it makes today if they only have one model of the 3 Series ? i don't know if the new GT3 RS will be faster than the GT2 on every track , but i think it has chances to be faster on slow, twisty tracks. but it will be more than 1 second faster than the normal GT3 on every other race track. the difference between the GT3 and the GT3 RS has never been so great like it is now.

I don't mean to offend anybody so please don't take the following to heart as I am just voicing my opinion. You can't compare a mainstream bread and butter 3 Series to a 911. Sales volume of 17K cars annually, hardly qualifies as "demand". BMW sell 1.5Mil cars, I hazard a guess that 200K of them are 3 series and there are only 5 versions of it. Frankly, I still don't see why 17,000 cars have to come in 15 variations. In fact I believe that they manage to fool you into thinking there's a difference between one 911 and the other. I mean come on, it's only 15BHP stronger than the GT3 with 450BHP total. Which, for this category, is rather pathetic... If the difference were as substantial as you think it is, I think Porsche would be bust just from trying to build each and every version. The difference between this car and a "normal" 911 turbo is nothing more than bits of scaffolding, some chip/engine tuning, lowered suspension and garish graphics. All of which can be done to any car at a bargain price of 10K Eur. 15BHP power gain... I wouldn't pay 500Eur for 15 BHP, let alone 30K Eur... That's how they earn their money and by god they are brilliant at reeling in the rich fanboy suckers. And no, it won't be faster than the GT2 simply because it costs less. And no, it won't go faster than 0.X seconds around any track when compared to a GT3. 1 month of no comments on WCF if it does. Are you taking me up on that bet?

you clearly have no idea whatsoever about cars if you think HP is all that counts. anyway, there are 51 models of the current 3 series in Europe, (go to bmw.de and choose a 3 series from the Konfigurator) , that's without the M3 models and BMW is preparing to launch even more 3 series variants as we speak, the 3 series Efficient Dynamics range. then go drive all 15 models of the 911 and then say there is no difference. then go to fastestlaps.com and you will see the current normal GT3 is already faster then the GT2 on some tracks. have a nice day.

Fastestlaps.com - The GT3 beat the GT2 on an esoteric German magazine test... Where it matters: - Hockenheim - GT3 is substantially slower by professional racing standards. - Nordschleife - the GT3 is a staggering 11 seconds slower and I predict the GT3 RS will be 10 seconds slower.

Badass. Crazy colors have always been the trademark of the RS lineage, love it or hate it. Why should this one be any different.
