WCF its probably worth noting the front and rear fender changes/extensions (and therefore wider track) for those are clearly not the standard items!

"larger, more aggressive air intakes"..From the pictures, they don't even look like proper air intakes, just plastic covers designed to look like intakes. Even the A5 and S5 don't have air intakes besides the front grille. They're just plastic covers made to resemble air intakes.

If you've ever seen an A5 or S5 in person, they are plastic covers, not intakes.

so little interest in this car, as seen by number of responses here.
audi should consider making their RS's a little more radical. they have the S' to be mildly sporty.

i disagree, if u visit car forums around the world, u would see a very high interest in it. but there have been many threads about RS5 spy pics in the last few months and these pics don`t reveal anything really new.

i think there is plenty of interest, surprisingly. i agree with you M! that the R line ought to be a bit more expressive. to someone other than an audi fanboy, the differences between a regular audi, an S, and an R are hardly discernible.

Audi has based their entire design language on subtlety. A few refined lines to change/update a car.
It would go against their entire philosophy to build something that is "radical" to the eye.
Though I agree with you, all cars have a target market. Maybe the Audi RS line just isn't for us.
Maybe what you really want is the Mercedes Black Edition.

So far Audi is the only one who brings out a new amg and M competitor without turbo's. I loved this engine in the RS4 and this one can only be better.

the only AMG turbos are the 6.0L engines in the 65 cars. other than that, they're all naturally aspirated.

Uh, the RS6 has always been turbocharged. As is the TT-RS. Even the S4 is supercharged. All the BMW M cars (except the awful X5 and X6, which aren't really M cars anyway) are naturally aspirated. And what McNamara said.

because the mass orgasm of all Audi fans would move the Earth out of it's orbit.

SImply because it will not fit. Consider the difference in size between the A/S/RS6 and the A/S/RS5 and the amount of work that needed to be done to simply shoehorn a twin-turbo V10 and all it's auxiliaries into the engine bay of the RS6. If Audi wants to maintain some form of profitability, they would not even be capable of doing it.
Mind you, what I am most interested in is the return of the twin-turbo V6 for a future RS4, as Audi did develop the new 3.0T (Supercharged) motor alongside a twin-turbo variant. It could be all quite interesting.

The A5 is an A4 coupe, so logically it would get the A4/S4/RS 4 engines.

the a5 series came out first so the a4 actually trails it. i quite like the s5 with the v8 (much nicer than the T5 in the updated model)

I don't think the A5s came out first. The A5s are built on the last generation A4 platforms if I remember correctly.

There's 7 speed on the R-Tronic gearbox? Isn't it suppose to be S-Tronic?
