Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Caught in the Flesh at Dealership

An anonymous tipster has sent us pictures of Toyota's redesigned 2010 Land Cruiser Prado (Lexus GX).

Taken at a Toyota dealership, the new photos reveal the Prado's aggressive front bumper and modernized rear end. Like the previous generation Prado, the new 2010 model features a distinctive greenhouse and side opening rear tailgate.

As we reported in yesterday's Prado brochure leak, the redesigned SUV boasts a luxurious interior with a multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats, and plenty of wood trim.

Power is expected to come from a 4.6-liter V8 engine with 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque, a healthy improvement over today's 4.7-liter V8 with 263 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque.

Look for the redesigned Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to be officially unveiled shortly.

There is nothing classic about an all-new vehicle with outdated styling. The M-B G-Class is a classic. Perhaps the only one left...can't think of another, maybe a Jeep Wrangler, even though it's recently redesigned. The Land Cruiser has strayed so far from its original mission that they had to introduce a cartoon version of it (FJ Cruiser) to remind people what it was all about.

argh i meant it in the way that it was one of the first big offroaders and concerning its chassis it belongs to the classic luxury offroaders. in contrast to a defender or to a wrangler jeep it was comfortable to drive onroad in a time where nobody built those wanna be things like the x5,q7,etc. thats what i wanted to say by saying classic or luxury. i agree with you on the design though.

But actually the Prado was not even close of the first. Original Land Cruiser were. Prado is just Toyotas copy of Mitsubishi Pajero, made to complete against it in the cheaper 4x4 class, since big land cruisers were much more expenesive. ;)

the headlights has a really Lexus theme to it..i like it ! the tail light is just a bigger version of the current 2009 model, but its still kinda gd....cant wait to see the top model's interior !

Those shots were on the Car Advice Website weeks ago so no scoop here. Show us the 3 Door Version that is coming out first and we will be impressed. C'mon WCF - The 3 Door the 3 door.... The Leaked brochure yesterday was good though.

The one thing you must change in this car is the grill. Change it and you'll see how great and big looks this car. Yes, it is ugly but drivers get scared when see this face in the mirriow (particulary when you blinkink with xenon to ask the way) :-) :-)

4.6-liter V8 engine with 310bhp? i am not expecting 100bhp per liter but i suppose it is the same engine from the Lexus LS460 which produces 380bhp, why 70bhp less for something that weights two tonnes?
