Why does this car look so much like an Exige? And those are insane performance figures.

Lotus was the first thing that came to my mind when i saw it for the first time. looks good, but it is a complete ripoff from lotus.

maybe it's based on the Exige.

when the concept was originally announced about 2 years ago it was plainly stated that this car IS based on the current lotus elise/exige styling so it looks like the elise because it is in fact based off of the elise/exige.

Does Steve Everitt happen to work for Lotus? That thing doesn't look like or slightly resemble an Exige, it IS an Exige. You can't just change a few dimensions and call it your own.

lol, you took the words right out of my mouth. and what exactly did he design? he quite clearly had the blueprint for the elise in his back pocket. when it says "designed by steve everit" does it mean just the design or more than that..? because if it is just teh design, his name is not worthy of even a mention.

Looks Like The Lotus Exige GT3 Racer To Me.

The one thing that really distinguishes Veyron from competitors is it's original exterior. Every other sport car looks like some other sport car in one way or another.

how about the luxurious interior and the smooth ride at top speed ?

That comes later. The first thing you look in a car from pics is the exterior. And this car is yet another example of common design.

Very fast. but it is still just an Exige. For some reason I'd still take a lotus over this. I dunno why. :P

It's a shame that all designers are foul these days... Nobody can design a car that isn't based on another car.

Lamborghini Murci?lago, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari 458, Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, Maserati Quattreporte, Jaguar XF, E60 BMW 5 Series.. no, no I think they can. ;)

This thing smells all wrong. First off, it plagiarises an Exige. Not only is that ethically questionable, it raises the question of who will pay what these guys will be asking for something that looks like a ?40K Lotus. Secondly, the performance stats. I read that the Veyron would need an additional 100bhp to add 1mph to its top speed. How do these guys think they're going to get to 272mph? A lighter car will help acceleration, but low weight doesn't help in ultimate top speed, as inertia is fighting against the air at 250mph. Is this thing REALLY so much air efficient than the Veyron that it can 20mph more with just 200bhp extra? I think they've lost the plot!

The 100bhp for extra 1 mph is Veyron marketing rhetoric. It's not a rule that stands firm for all vehicles. Gear ratio is as important as aerodynamics and power ultimately. At the end of the day if this car does make the figures it claims we all know it won't deliver the complete experience that the Veyron does. And I think that's why we all hold the Veyron in such high esteem. We know it is the most "complete" car that has ever been made.

Mercedes W125 Rekord got to 432 km/h , 269 mph in 1938 with only 736 hp. it is still the fastest car ever driven on a public road. aerodynamics is important, the Veyron isn't very aerodynamic because Ferdinand Piech was too stubborn and he wanted to keep that shape. the Veyron would be a lot faster with a more aerodynamic shape.

So, until there is data available on this "car" (very loose definition given it's a few sketches right now) and it's aerodynamic performance, it's pretty hard to discount it's top speed potential.

wow scratchy, i just checked out the merc W125. I cannot believe that they made a 5.5l v12 engine in 1938 that produced 736 bhp! thats truely impressive!

2400 lbs, it doesn't have the mass to get up to over 270mph, I don't care how much horsepower you have.

Weren't Hennessey having tons of issues delivering Vipers to customers who had paid? How are they still in business?

To be honest on a second look, I quite like the Mclaren F1, Carrera GT type lines from the front and side.

I don't know about you, but I'm getting bored of car manufacturers making street legal race cars. At the end of the day it's all overkill. I prefer a "normal" looking car with respectable horsepower (less than 500) that is still fast, can handle and has amenities.

A lotus? I always wondered what would a lotus would be with a massive engine. I think this is an exaggeration, but now I know. (lol, even if it's not a lotus)

why try beating the veyron first the 9ff ruf, then the ssc thingy, then the mosler landshark, now this and countless others have tried to beat up the veyron but they wont come into production or end up matching the performance to the figures they produce. what an absolute mess at the back and a lotus exige front?
