Reminds me of the 2 gen old one. Not very inspired design IMO.

New styling my foot. But I suspect, much like the latest Lexus RX, this will look much better in the flesh. The fact remains though that the Prado is in dire need of a REAL update and restyling.

Is this designed for Crown Comfort drivers who want to trade in their taxi for an equally dated-looking SUV? Looks like Toyota let the summer interns design this...shockingly unappealing and wrong for the times.

I'm impressed - how can you make a car design more boring than that?

Toyota is normally pretty good in engines with good horsepower/liter, but with this 4.6 v8 and the tubdra's 5.7 v8 it seems they don't have the guts to do it better than the americans

What about the 3 door model. No-one seems to be talking about that but it's coming. Oh Yes it is.... Who's going to have that shot first. Not WCF by the looks of things.

Well I have to say the styling is a bit, ahem, insecure along the lines of modern design philosophy. Surely Toyota could've seen that. As to the wheezy 4.6litre V8, surely again Toyota could've extracted a bit more bhp from it ( 340bhp would fit the bill a bit better than a mere 310bhp ); or alternatively Toyota could've just whacked in the 5.7litre V8 which develops approx 380bhp, and has a half-decent exhaust note to it ( Australian-spec ). As for the interior, the centre-stack is a bit too, well, odd-looking. So out of 100, I'd give it a solid 50. Nice to see Toyota having a go despite the GFC, but obviously there is a lot that Toyota could've done to make it a better overall product.

are the Lexus GX going to look exactly the same as this? Also, when are they supposed to come in the US?

Hey Silent Night, the Aussie 5.7 V8 Toyota Motor in LC200 Only produces around 280h.p .(202Kw) Watchatalkinbout man. We don't even have a Prado V8 down here....

All cars cater for different markets. The Prado has never been - and will never be -a "soft" 4x4 designed for urban-only driving. Obviously, Toyota knows this, and is simply remaining faithful to a particular market.

the front end is pretty much your average ugly standard Prado, however I must say that the rear end treatment raises the bar in ugliness to territories never seen before!

Once upon a time, the Land Cruiser was one of the best vehicles for serious off roading....Now this... Looks, bloated and obese....How sad...

I don't think this SUV is beautiful at all. Seriously, I don't even want to show it to others. I prefer to Mitsubishi Pajero.
