2010 Lexus ES 350 facelift spotted in dealership

2010 Lexus ES 350 facelift spied in Japanese dealership

New Lexus ES 350 appears with modest changes, including a new front bumper and grill, as well as LED lights for the side mirrors

These photos were taken in a Lexus dealer showroom and sent to WCF by an anonymous tipster.

The Lexus ES 350 is expecting a facelift sometime in 2010, although it seems it will be a rather modest one. There are some changes to the front bumper and grill, and the addition of LED lights in the side mirrors. The rear end looks pretty much the same.

There may be a reason this model has made its way to a Japanese dealership so soon, maybe Lexus wanted to leak the news and get some promotional buzz going with some spy photos making the rounds out there in the online world.

The ES is the only Lexus which isn't sold in Japan. So this "leakage" may very well be for the benefit of other markets, particularly the U.S. where Lexus does quite well.

What kind of Lexus is this?! What ever it is, I'm glad it isn't sold here. The IS already looks good enough.

The Lexus ES isn't sold in all markets, and evidently, not N20_purge's market.

I'm afraid this place is not Japan, but Taiwan. Because I can read the number plate of the car behind the new ES. ES is sold in Taiwan, China Mainland, Middle East, too.

The article still doesn't say what it is. I know there used to be a Lexus ES in Aus, but now there is only IS, GS, LS, SC (ugh), RX and LX. Can anyone shed light on what segment it fits in?

This car has the same size of a Camry but has more luxurious make-ups. It uses 3.5 V6 only, but it is said that Lexus will offer a 2.5L version in China in order that more local people can afford ES.

It is based on the Camry and in Australia it never sold terribly well. Especially after the introduction of the GS, then IS, and finally RX.

Essentially the Aurion Presara is it's replacement in Australia. It's significantly lower priced, just as well specified, better styled, and built in Australia.

I've spent about a month with one. It's a fantastic car.

It's the same ES that used to be sold here, but updated. Clearly we're not stupid enough to buy a Camry with a Lexus badge, so they pulled it out.

I believe the reason this car (the ES 350, GCV40) is not offered in Japan and Aus becuase its LHD only vehicle. North America, China, Taiwan, Middle east, are all LHD country. Where as Japan, Aus, UK, Hong Kong (Yep, being part of China they don't get it as well) are RHD country. As other people mentioned, the ES 300(old ones,vcv10,mcv20,mcv30) used to be available RHD, and sold in Japan(as Toyota Windom) AUS, and Hong Kong.

The GS is relatively more expensive and has a RWD layout. The ES is smaller, cheaper and has a FWD layout. Its also much more boring to drive.

well this rebadged Toyota Camry... I mean Lexus does look better, I guess. I will never understand why it's the best selling "luxury" car in America (where I live) though... its just so boring and... nevermind, Imma go now before I upset off some Lexus driver or something...

the lexus ES350 is selling well here in the Middle East, it also is a gap between the Lexus IS and the GS, however it is the ONLY FWD Lexus which is really a shame since it has a decent 3.5L V6 engine, and after being driven in one the steering wheel changes direction when from zero and pressing full throttle, also the interior styling and in fact the exterior styling is way too bad for Lexus and this face lift hasn't changed a thing

As a proud owner of a heavily customized 2007 Lexus IS 300 (Middle East version), I can tell you that the Lexus ES is more comfortable and has higher sound insulation than the IS and the GS, the car also has a panoramic roof option. It's still a painful sight, but I have to say that the ES and IS are 2 completely different markets, even with similar prices. The ES is much more family oriented than the sporty IS. Ironically, the IS engine is much weaker than the ES (the IS250 & IS350 are not available in the Middle East, only a 228hp 3.0L engine)… Lexus just didn’t do its homework this time.

I don't know why you poeple hate Lexus!

This ES is a fantastic car even if it's based on the camery, but the interior is 100% deffirent and very very comfortable.

cause Lexus are so boring, it hurts. they have the charisma and personality of a potato. even the Toyota boss admitted they make boring cars.thank God we don't have them in Europe, people would die of boredom.

They're nice cars. Well equipped, well built, great engines. But they're not for me. I find better value for money elsewhere.

In the US, Lexus/Toyota are always ranked as one of the most, if not THE most, reliable cars on the road. The ES may be a boring car, but it sells in the US and that's a fact. Is the IS and GS more fun to drive? Absolutely, but I'm a commuter so I like the comfort of the ES. Look, this is the bottom line. If you want to be one with the road and want a performance car, DO NOT buy the ES. If you want isolation from the road, reliablity and good fuel economy, buy the ES. As for comparing the ES to the Camry, platform may be the same, but they are NOT the same cars. I have owned both cars. What I am in agreement with is that the new fog lights are out of placed on the 2010 ES350.
