A nice addition, but a business exec will not prefer to be dropped off on an Equus to board his private jet. Could do wonders in Korea may be, but doubtful elsewhere.

Woah. Those South Koreans have become a daring bunch. But this is just insane. I mean, they're pitching their best efforts against the likes of the Bavarian Big-3, Jaguar, and every other 6-figured price-tag car. I knew that this Global Financial Crisis would reveal a challenge to the established powers of the old world; but now it seems that it's not just in world politics that this is happening. Hmmmmmmmm...

Such was said about Lexus at launch. I think Hyundai when they go to sell this car internationally will use the Genesis brand in development. Combined with the Genesis Coupe and Sedan.

The Equus, in Asian markets at least, fared pretty well against the S, 7 and A8. If the car is good enough, there should be little doubt as to whether the car can do the same globally. I also noticed that the more recent Genesis sedans being sold here in the US don't have the Hyundai badges and rather a more classy logo unique to the Genesis. Hyundai may do the same with the Equus.

"no business man in their right mind would spend that much on a hyundai when they can spend their money on a lexus,...blah blah blah" Why not? 30 years ago no one wanted to drive Jap Crap Toyotas (no offence intended to anyone from Japan) Anyone who makes a comment like that clearly wears their ego on their sleeve. QUality and value mean more to "smart" business men then a badge. I know a surgeon who owns a Subaru Liberty GT (STI) paid 1/2 what his "Business men" mates did on their supposedly superior Audi's and BMW's and they ALL want to drive his car!! Why not the same with a Hyundai. As a company they are following what Toyota did years ago. They bought Kia to have a cheap money making brand whilst concentrating on building better quality, higher spec Hyundais. Write this day down on your calander as the day you were told that Hyundai is a real contender .... You can use it as a reminder of your foolish remarks!

We've had a lwb version of the previous generation Equus and the Chairman before. It's nothing new.
In the market where majority of the Equus is sold (the homemarket) it a majority of the executives and politicians have to ride domestic cars because of image. (They may have the Porsche and the Mercedes in the garage but mostly they are driven around in one of these.)
Also, if you are a supplier to Hyundai you must drive one of their cars. My father's company used to produce engine components for Hyundai and he had to "downgrade" to a Hyundai for official use.
