You can't make a car ad with a camouflaged model, can you?

A keen observer has spotted Hyundai filming a commercial for the upcoming Tucson ix35 in Sydney, Australia. The upcoming SUV from the Korean automaker has been caught fully undisguised, for obvious reasons, and it is likely Hyundai is gearing up for a release rather soon. The ix35 is expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September (next month).

The new Tucson ix35 is based on the Hyundai HED-6 ix-ONIC Concept which debuted at the Geneva show last March. It is also the next-generation Tucson but the model remains faithful to that concept and it seems as though Hyundai is transitioning the model's name and will someday drop the Tuscon moniker for good.

The ix35 will likely come with a new 1.6 liter engine Hyundai has developed which sports a robust 173 hp. A new diesel may also be in the offering, perhaps the 1.6 liter ISG coming to the Cee'd from sister brand Kia.

One can beat up on Hyundai (as well as Kia) for copying European styling in their designs and always being one step behind in technology. You can spot that in this model, with its Ford Kinetic Design-influenced headlamps and the hexagonal grill which resonates Audi. But they do build reliable cars and the technology they use is tried and true.

Simple good value may not be for everyone, some people need their car to have mojo too, but it can be a clever buy.

It appears to be a true copy of the successful Nissan Murano, and bit of Nissan Rogue.

Love how people like you are predisposed against this car because Korean manufacturers tend to make cars that resemble others. If anything, this car does not follow that stereotype. Audi grille? Seriously thats a stretch. There's bound to be similarities between cars following modern design trends. Suck it up.

The front is a mazda 3 the rest is a nissan rogue. Fits right in with every other ugly copycat in Hyundai's line up.

Hyundai have wisely left the designing bit to Europe and now all Hyundai cars are designed in their European studio with satellites elsewhere. If you folks want to nitpick on its design, then every other car on the market bears some resemblance to its competitor. If being prejudiced is your choice, prejudiced will it be.
