Four seats, five doors

We've seen the Aston Martin Rapide numerous times, but we haven't managed to get a decent glimpse of the interior - until now.

As this leaked photo most likely from a scanned brochure shows, the Rapide will feature four seats which will be separated by a massive center console that runs from the dash to the trunk. Other unique touches include a dual screen rear entertainment system, individual climate and audio controls for the rear passengers (possibly through an iDrive-like system), and a collapsible bulkhead that offers added cargo capacity.

Set to ride on an extended version of the DB9's platform, the Rapide will be powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 470bhp (350kW) and 600Nm of torque. This should enable the car to rocket from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed in excess of 180 mph.

Look for the Aston Martin Rapide to be offically unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with production scheduled to begin shortly thereafter.

I agree, it would have the same rear half that people have been complaining about on the panamera. Only difference is that little spoiler lip, if that wasnt there it would have pretty much the exact same lines from the front door back.

LOL Performance figures and specs seem a little low compared to a Panamera. Perhaps sportier options can be expected in the future?

Not enough? 470bhp is more than enough for daily driving, and I don't think any owner would take a 4 door luxury coupe to a trackday, so all the power in the Panamera is useless.

As for this, it is magnificent. I don't really see why anyone would want a panamera over this.

I Just think its a little weird that a supercar manufacturer would enter a segment of the market that is already dominated by 500+ horsepower German muscle cars with an under performing V12 . If the panamera doesn't suit your taste, you only have to look as far as Mercedes for the CLS 63 with over 500hp or the M5 with over 500 as well. Those are cars that are already on the market. There is little Question that the Rapide's design is better thought out than the Porsche's. But its already too slow compared to cars that are already out.

I'd just like to know what the hell happened to the car we were all expecting. At least we knew the Panamera was going to turn out ugly (yet still awesome). This one is a surprise to say the the least.

Nice looking car but I wouldnt waste the money because if the cygnet concept makes production Aston Martin will be so damaged and every AM vehicle will be greatly devalued.
