German tuner Arden has put its new Jaguar XKR 5.0L Convertible on display at the Oldtimer Grand Prix which took place at the Nurburgring circuit this past weekend (August 7 to the 9th).

Certainly no old timer, though, this Arden version of the XKR 5.0L, which Jaguar introduced earlier this year, features some true performance tuning, including the provision of a redesigned chassis.

That chassis is meant to make this Wild Cat more nimble and responsive. Also added are 9x21-inch alloy wheels and a quad-piped sport exhaust system out of stainless steel (with performance catalytics) that produces an "out-of-this world sound", according to Arden. You'll just have to take their word on that until you can hear it for yourself. The AJ20 Wild Cat rear plus diffuser rounds out the performance parts package. Optional is the V-Max suspension.

For those also looking for a little extra muscle right from the horse's mouth, so to speak, Arden also offers a power boosting of 30 bhp and 50 Nm of torque on top of the existing 510 bhp (with 625 Nm). Top speed is also dialed on up to 320 km/h from (what one assumes is) the electronically limited 250 km/h limit of the standard XKR 5.0L.

Arden puts it stamp on the project with its own stainless steel grill (chrome-plated too) and an Arden badge to really distinguish this model on the road.

This Arden Jaguar XKR 5.0L Convertible is based on the previous Arden AJ20 Coupe.

Accompanying photos also include those of the facelifted 2010 XKR AJ20 Wild Cat coupe, with newly added LEDs to the front bumpers and side mirrors.

Press Release (Click to expand)

Arden Jaguar XKR 5.0L Convertible from the 7th to the 9th August 2009 at Nürburgring.

As part of the Oldtimer Grand Prix taking place at Nürburgring, Arden is putting the new Jaguar XKR 5.0L on show.

The 2010 Jaguar XKR 5.0L model only needed slight modification due to its modelling on the Arden AJ20 Coupe design introduced at the International Automobile Fair (IAA.)in 2005. This, alongside the various well known 9x21'' sportline alloy wheels, the new 5.0L possesses a redesigned chassis, which was developed in collaboration with Bilstein and improves the driving dynamics and agility of the wild cat. The special high performance stainless steel exhaust system with sport catalytics guarantees not only increases performance and improves handling at low speeds, but also has an out-of-this world sound. The four pipe system is rounded-off with the well known AJ20 Wild Cat Heck plus diffuser.

The front of the newest XKR is aesthetically improved through a specially hand-worked and chrome-plated stainless steel grill. These, along with the Arden badge with patented security fixing let the sportsman shine with a new glory.

For those who aren't satisfied by 510bhp and a 250km/h top speed, we offer not only a performance increase of roughly 30bhp and 50Nm but also the accompanying V-Max suspension and a speedometer increased to 320km/h.

Anyone who wants to see the newest Jaguar from Arden close-up can do so from the 7th to the 9th of August in the Motosportcenter at Nürburgring. For any further questions, just ask our staff at any time.

As is often the case, looks great. The DRL are a bit tacky though.
