who needs 850 hp daily car?
and how can the gearbox handle that much power?

+1 for your second question. While hp can be never enough, the car should be reliable as well. that's like 80% more than a standard car, I doubt GT-R gearbox would be able to handle that much power.

Nobody *NEEDS* an 850 hp daily driver ... or a 450 hp daily driver! I think my old Super Beetle made 72 hp, after LOTS of work, and that got me around just fine!

It was never about needs. It was always about wants. I don't need that thing. But I sure do want it!
So cut the "don't need argument" no one cares.

@Jo@Switzer, hey i like the gt-r sounds great. does it have any changes to the transmission gears? I know the standard gearbox only had trouble with the 07 launch control on the first gear so it shouldn't bother the trany with more hp. do you have any 0-100 and 1/4mile results?

Unfortunately, we don't have much in the way of hard acceleration runs. This is a customer car, and we let our customers do the talking.
I will say that on the last GTR we delivered, stock 60-130 was 11.8 sec., after we were done (at less than 700 whp) he ran 6.8-6.9, it's significantly faster ... until the owner posts his times, we'll all have to wait and see.

Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes (PPG) has just released a full first to sixth gear upgrade for the GTR, so 715lb/ft "shouldn't" be an issue.:)
