Nissan's premium division Infiniti will be unveiling its next generation M saloon at the 59th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance later this month. This will be the third iteration of the M but the first slated to make it to European dealerships, placed above the G37 in the product lineup.

Additionally, AutoCar is reporting that Infiniti is also considering bringing its hybrid version of the M saloon to European shores as well. That hybrid version will be launching next year, after the introduction of the M saloon in the U.S. at the end of 2009.

The M saloon hybrid comes with a 3.7 liter V6 petrol/gasoline engine coupled to a compact electric motor juiced by lithium-ion batteries. Infiniti has aleady put that technology on display in Europe at the Geneva motor show back in March.

Selling a luxury hybrid in Europe poses several problems for premium automakers, who are also offering ever-increasingly efficient diesels in their models. The problem becomes which to promote, the diesel or the hybrid, in a way that one doesn't completely eclipse the other.

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance takes place on Sunday August 16th.

M sedan is better than lexus GS ,i have to admit it . I feel sleepy when i drive lexus GS or even LS. Infiniti has so much feeling, from exhaust sound to smooth finished interior, never boring

nicest looking concept i have ever seen in my entire life. yes i just said it lol. the first picture is pure sex... i must say its up to par with aston martin's designs, maybe that's why i like it so much. beautiful... i'd build it just like that. why don't car companies ever do that anyways??

What you are looking at and written about is the Infiniti Essence concept. It got nothing to do with the M sedan. Some design cues are likely to trickle down to M, but this concept is not M.

That is a very sleek side profile. Oh wait, that pretty much means there won't be much headroom in the rear.

They need to change M to some other letter in the alphabet.

Try to think outside the BMW box, Jesus, since when BMW is owning a letter in the alphabet?

Who said that? I didn't say BMW owns a letter, just there's so many words and M is already famous for something.

Jesus...

Renegade, thinking outside the box is not the mantra of WCF comments. I think most people here would be satisfied if car model changeovers extended out to 15 years, like Lexus - with little "evolutionary" changes like moving the license plate up 1 inch. Take a look at all the negative comments whenever anything new is introduced......you'll also notice its the same people always complaining. They think that once they like something, it should never be changed. I am with your comment.

why don't they start using letters from the Greek alphabet, personally, i think they sound cooler. The Infiniti Omega (ahh but that would be kind of a contradiction don't you think?)

Too late. Vauxhall has already used the 'Omega' name.

The picture looks more like a coupe, hope it's not going to be an other mb CLS competitor.
