Mercedes AMG future product plans divulged

Not sure I understand why MB wouldn't put the better transmission in the C63....maybe cost.

Even more unsure why they're not doing a "standard" E63 AMG.. don't get me wrong, the CLK63 AMG Black Series was a monster but for the same money i'd prefer something like a DB9 or a 911 Turbo, and it's the same for the E63 AMG Black Series. who would buy a ?100k E-Class (or a ?100k C-Class really)? if you want sporty surely you'd opt for the SL63 AMG, and if you want a grand tourer surely you'd get the CL63 AMG. and they're not building the E63 AMG to protect the CLS63 AMG, but at the same time leaving a massive gap in the market for the M3 and upcoming RS5 to run rampant? the whole thing doesn't make any sense...

last Clk Black series was a big success. so why not for this one? GO MB!!

speedshift gearbox is so good. what a shame they are not going to put it on the AMG C-class.

i really liked the idea of a 4 door black series, i was thinking cls black. but anyway i dont see how an e class amg coupe would bother the cls in a major way i mean wont the e500 coupe bother the cls500 and there still making it and if the e class is for the 5 series then the e coupe can be for the 6 series and the cls for the 5 series gt

I am confused as to why there wont be a standard E-class AMG coupe. In my mind the CLK63 and the CLK63 black competed in two different segments.

BTW, the pics of that silver E-Coupe with AMG package look incredible. I cannot wait to see what they do to the Black Series, that will be one absolutely gorgeous car.

Of course there'll be a E-Class Coupe AMG - they do with every other model (including the R-Class), so there's no reason they wouldn't.

I've really gone off AMG ever since they announced they were backing out of the horsepower wars and that there would be no M3/RS5 competitor. Hard to see why anyone would buy the E63 over an RS6 or current M5, let alone a new one, save for the badge perhaps. Still love the V12TT AMG's, though.

I think the new E-class is excellent?

If a C class gets 500 hp, the E class is really low with 525 hp, or is AMG getting so &*^&*(&()@@#@%$# that the want to give every AMG the same power? And if AMG *&^%&#$ it up with electric and diesel cars for god sake, why not make any A class with a Sl65 engine in the back?
