I've already seen two in Southern California. A sedan on a flatbed, and a coupe near my university. Good looking model.

I've seen the sedan and the coupe and I can tell you that they look 1000% better in person than pictures. I'm thinking of getting a sedan for the wife and a coupe for my self next year as both of our leases end on March 2010!

yeah, that's my impression too. for some reason the pics don't do this car justice. they look far more aggressive and have a commanding presence when you see them in person. the coupe's rear end does look a bit bulbous though, i would go for the sedan.

I saw 10 sedans with different colors and packages at the local dealers... from the 1st look you can see the cadillac front & the honda accord / hyundai sonata rear... without the merc badge you will think that your looking at a Japanese/Korean car...

I'd really like a 7 seater estate version but the new BMW 5 Series GT has rear reclining seats. Don't think I've seen that in a mid ranged vehicle before.

I'm ashamed to admit this...but my first car was a Sterling 825(which I believe was a Rover 825 in Europe?) and it had rear reclining seats.
It was also a 5dr hatch as well^^

The sedan looks good in person, but the coupe is absolutely stunning! Photos definitely do not do either of the cars justice. Well done MB!

I saw a bunch of these during my trip in June.
Even saw one with the AMG sports package with the AMG bumpers and aprons.
Absolutely fantastic car.
The best one was the black coupe I chased on the Autobahn. It was indeed absolutely stunning.
I passed it to see it in the rear view mirror and let it pass me so I can see it from the back and drove along side it.
The little window/b pillar was not too noticable in person.
It was an admirable car and the driver was a total class act.
Now I need to sit in one to judge the interior and drive one to assess the dynamics of it.

I have sit in one sedan and is great, you have the feeling that the quality and teutonic look of Mercedes is back! Pictures doesn't make justice of how the car looks, elegant, classy and strong, good work MB

Having been fortunate enough to drive the launch vehicles earlier this year i can guarantee the looks are only the start of an unbelievable high quality effort from the merc team. The saloon is superb and the Coupe even more so Enjoy!!!

schnitzerx and ubercool please go back to driving your shopping carts! Any ways, I just got back from driving the E550 coupe with AMG package and I can tell you that the car stole my heart! Simply amazing. My wife and I will test drive the sedan this Saturday as we're considering the new E as our next cars. Simply amazing...

I just got back from test driving one and I can see why edmunds rated it number 1 over the BMW and Jag. It not only outperforms everything else in its class but design wise it is leaps and bounds ahead of the others. Some can say what they want but this vehicles agressive innate german design is evident. The quality ride in unmatched by even the S550. Definitely purchasing one.
