2010 Mazda RX-8 facelift officially announced for Europe

Wait, isn't this already on sale in the UK? I have seen one on the road. If so, why did it take so long for it to reach the rest of Europe? Still, the RX-8 is a very cool car!

thats a sharp looking little sports car, now if they would only put the furai into production. that would complete their line up

Facelift looks alot better, but up the engine folks. I've driven one, and ya high revs are one thing, but no torque whatsoever.

I prefer the old one's grid, thinner.

Like to see the lines a little sharper, all looks pretty round to me... curves everywhere. Bonnet curving on either side to lights a good example. Otherwise, can't comment: never driven!

I get fed up with you so called "enthusiast's or experts" who think they know about the RX-8 and how "Gutless" it is...well you are all wrong. The RENESIS has only 45 less HP than the Turbo-ed RX-7. On the Track it is equally as fast as a 350Z or BMW M3. In fact TOP GEAR UK has these 3 cars doing the SAME lap time of 131.08, indeed the Holden V8 Monaro is also the same time. For Fantastic LEGAL driving the RX-8 is plenty fast enough, and I own an 09 RX-8. This car is an absolute JOY to drive, the BEST Rotary Mazda has EVER made, and the easiest to live with, the ride and handling with the rotary is SUPERB. I get more stares and looks than any other car I have owned, and that is many.

BTW, the R3 has factory Rear Spoiler, Recaro's,Front Bumper Lower Splitters, 19" Alloys and Side Skirts. The Luxury Version (USA GT), does not. But has all leather, sunroof, 9 speaker Bose, Electric Seats, 18" Alloys, the R3 does not have. Mechanically they are Identical.

AND, this is NOT a Face-lifted "New" RX-8, as some on-line reports have said, this is the new 09 look, that most of the world got (USA,Australia,Canada,UK,NZ,Brunei,Asia) almost a year ago. Part of the reason Germany did not get this latest model is because they had large stocks of Series 1 RX-8's to sell first.
