If you've ever wondered what would have happened if Fiat bought GM instead of Chrysler, the SV Motor Company has your answer with the new SV 9 Competizione.

Designed to mix American performance with Italian style, the SV 9 Competizione features a unique carbon fiber body which borrows more than a few lines from Alfa Romeo's sexy 8C Competizione. Despite the emphasis on style, the company created useful airflow properties which channel air through the hood and rear ducts to increase brake and engine cooling.

SVMC also went to work under the hood, where they added a revised air intake and a custom-tuned ANSA exhaust which is modeled after the Ferrari Daytona and 599 GTB. These modest tweaks create an additional 14hp, which allows the SV 9 Competizione to be rated at 450 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. The company estimates this will enable the SV 9 to rocket from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 12 seconds flat. Other modifications include a specially tuned sports suspension, an enhanced braking system, and Pirelli P-Zero Rosso ultra performance tires.

Like a proper Italian exotic, the SV 9 features a luxurious interior with carbon fiber reinforced seats, Italian leather upholstery, and a choice of burlwood or carbon fiber trim.

Production will be limited to 1,000 units and prices start at $99,995.

Kind of liking it....until I saw the back. I know it gets the inspiration from the 8C, but the bland looking back with those circle tail lights looked like a cheap knock-off.

It looks like an AlfaRomeo from front,..Ferrari Enzo from top,...

Yep, this is what happens when an 8C and Corvette have.... you know. It is good, but there are quite a few errors, like the small wheels in the huge fender archs.

Even less desirable than if it were a kit body stuck on an original beetle

Even the standard corvette has bigger wheels than "SV 9 Competizione" in the same wheel arches.

http://users.metropolia.fi/~miikave/corvettebodykit.jpg These wheels are more like the right size. They are 17% bigger.

much better looking. It looks like the wheel arches in the original picture are from a cheap vette dragster.

I change my mind. It is an astonishing accomplishments to modify a Vette and make it more tacky.

$99,995 for an Alfa Romeo rip off? Do you get a pair of Alfa stickers for the sides if you pay those extra $5?

in Spanish, j is pronounced h, it's annoying when they write in English and do that.

No it's not, J is pronounced like J, and H is silent in most cases, except in some non-spanish words, like Honda.

Why? Why do companies do this? It's not an Alfa, so why try to make it look like one. It's like the Innotech Ferrari look-alike Corvette. Go buy a Fiero and put a Lamborghini body kit on it, you'll know what I'm talking about.
