All New 2010 Jaguar XJ - special WCF video edit

Following the all new 2010 Jaguar XJ unveiling last week with an initial launch video, we saw some low quality footage of the XJ taking some baby steps on the streets of London.  Since then Jaguar has released nice raw footage of the XJ and we wanted to put something different together.

Long time WCF writer Zack Newmark has been touting his video editing skills and so we thought it was about time we put him to the test.  With the instructions to select his own music and keep the overall tone simple and not too fancy, we think Zack did a nice job.  But more importantly what do you think about the video?  Is the XJ well represented with this style of music and editing style?  Please leave a comment below.

That car has some great features. I love the split view screen.

Not a bad job Zack, although I think Jaguar would believe the music is a little stuffy for the contemporary new Jag image.

That Tchaikovsky's Piano 1 is not that. Try Elbow's "Independent Woman".

editing is not bad, but the music does not go with the video.

The interior of this car and it´s features is fantastic, the XF front is ok but i just can´t get used to that Lancia Thesis/Maserati Quattroporte rear end.

Beautiful video. Every detail of the car is well presented and nothing is left out. The music he chose also defines the jaguar well as an english car.

that's pretty good video editing. though using a classic piano piece might be a bit too much for what should be a jag that breaks away from the old. but other than that, bravo...

for the car, as beautifully designed it is (inside and out), most of the features presented on this video seems.. been there done that: the pano-roof, the split-view nav screen, the lcd instrument cluster.... if jag hopes to compete with the germans (the s-class in particular which introduced said features in this high-end segment) and (maybe) even lexus, it might need something more than just style. it needs to bring something new to the table.

i waved jag good bye years ago in terms of style and badge. They did a good return with the current XF i think its called and now this XJ, they are looking sharp. As a hardcore bmw fan, i respect their efforts.

Cool video... way to go.

Maybe that soundtrack was not that perfect for THIS new XJ in particular... but still pretty cool indeed.
