Here we have some spy shots of the upcoming Fiat Grande Punto facelift.
The fact that these shots are of the new Grande Punto being carted around somewhere in Italy, and not scurrying around some test track in Scandinavia, likely indicates this model will be headed to dealer showrooms soon enough.
Our spy photographer notes that the model has had some additional changes to when it was last spied in winter testing. Back then we saw the new front grille and interior, perhaps just a powertrain mule for the upcoming 149. Now, there are also new taillights, headlights, and new front and rear bumpers.
Fiat, under the auspices of Sergio Marchionne, has become an automaker that exudes confidence. That makes it stand out, given current conditions in the automotive world and the Turin-based automaker's troubled past in the 90s and early 2000s. It's that boldness, expressed in design too, that has helped make Fiat's comeback. The slow coolness of the 500, for example, is also expressed in Marchionne's recent take it or leave bid for GM's Opel.
Grande Punto means "big point" in Italian. And Fiat seem to be making one.
