A second teaser image of Bugatti's upcoming Bordeaux super sedan has surfaced.

Like the first teaser, that we brought you earlier this week, the new picture shows the rear end of Bugatti's highly anticipated sedan. While we can't make out a lot of details, it is clear the Bordeaux features a distinctive design thanks to two horizontal horseshoe taillights and a large vertical center taillight which suggests the car may have a split rear window. Below the unique lighting display, we can see twin sets of quad tailpipes.

While details are scarce, the Veyron's quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine is expected to see duty in the new sedan. This likely means the Bordeaux will boast 1001 hp and 1250 Nm of torque, which should earn it the title of being the fastest and most powerful sedan ever created.

Despite costing an estimated several hundred thousand dollars more than the new Bentley "Grand", the Bordeaux will likely borrow much of its underpinnings from the Arnage successor.

The picture reportedly comes from an invitation to an event which takes place during the Frankfurt Motor Show, so expect a concept version of the Bordeaux to debut in September.

Nope, I also think that, I mean 8? Why not 20 or 30, will that be enough for Bugatti owners egomania?

i bet it won't be pretty. why not do a huge tail pipe like the lamborghini. 8 is a bit too cartoon.

Please note the 57SC. That is all. You might as well chide BMW for giving it's cars kidney grills.

Yes, it will be Bugatti's Panamera. Ugly, but competent.

This looks quite sexy, although the tailpipes are a little over the top.

No question at all this car has a split rear window and also a ridge running along its length down the centre line in the style of the Bugatti Atlantic; also a theme picked up on the Bugatti EB112 concept:

As you will see, this car later went into production and was renamed the Porsche Panamera... ;-)

Another car for the rich and shameless... From what we see in this picture, one can only conclude it will either be stunning or ugly- very informative, this invite...

hold on, comrade, since when is the internet full of communists? rich and shameless ? so i guess every one that has some success should buy a Prius ? wait , the Prius is another rich man's toy. i guess the rich should be ashamed of their success and wealth and not be allowed to own cars. does that make you happy , mr. Stalin ?

the revival of the split rear window is a plus imho.

I don't think it has enough tailpipes.

July 17, 2009 4:37 PM
lol i agree.way too little. pure understatement! ;D

i wonder if they put out a eco-version. they could f.e. combine two v12 tdi engines of the q7, make it a w24 tdi and put a nox kat on it. would be nice.

scratchy996
July 17, 2009 5:20 PM
definitely not enough tailpipes , there is too much space left between them.

loyo
July 17, 2009 8:41 PM
Ahh but it's gonna have 3 more on each side, under the doors like a Dodge Viper... and then 2 more behind each front-wheel arch, accommodated in some Merc-looking side vents . One for each of the 18 cylinders of its W143243 engine with 9 turbos

ShinyG
July 17, 2009 4:25 PM
Wow, 8 tailpipes, one for each cylinder! That vertical third light running the entire rear window is not something that could be considered safe!

Kepe
July 17, 2009 4:45 PM
Nope. One tailpipe for every two cylinders. Why wouldn't it be safe? The Mini Clubman also has a split rear window.

i was getting ready to as the same thing; 8 tailpipes? well this would be a retarded leap. from one to eight.. for what?

catchmyshadow
July 17, 2009 5:15 PM
well, on all other cars it wouldn`t make sense, but with a W16 and 1000 BHP it is worthy to carry 8 of them imho.

scratchy996
July 17, 2009 5:26 PM
i bet the designer has a sense of humour.this car is a symbol of opulence anyway, he thought "what the heck" and put 8 pipes there, i really like that.

8 tailpipes were on the Atlantic as I recall

Without the bunch of tailpipes, i'd say it actually looks like a hatchback

GRAVE
July 18, 2009 3:47 AM
The more the tail pipes, the more the car become uglier!

Why they didn't put 3 in each side and the other 2 in front of the rear tire just like the SLR instead of putting all of them together?

motorjedi
July 18, 2009 4:47 AM
Those aren't tailpipes, they're machine guns, just in case some peasant in a tuned 1000bhp Skyline (or God forbid, an SSC Ultimate Aero) comes along behind you and threatens your superiority. If said commoner still doesn't back off, that central taillight lifts open and sprays a stream of Moet and Chandon on the road - so as they slip off and into a tree, they will be reminded of their relative poverty. Haha.

This car will look terrible, but will still obviously be sold out before it's even built. It's fine to make a mid-engined hypercar look brash and ridiculous, but for Bugatti to do the same to a luxury saloon, that's just tasteless...

Porsche Panamerica got some influence from the old EB112 prototype. it won't be surprising if the Bordeaux concept took ideas from that car.
