RUF is great, most reliable High Performance Tuner for Porsches imho.

true. "Ruf Automobile GmbH is a German automobile manufacturer. Rufs are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis. When a chassis arrives, Ruf builds their own independent work into the car. Because Ruf installs many of their own-made parts, the company is recognized as a manufacturer by the German government."

they are a tuner but also a car manufacturer, u can get upgrades for stock 911s as well. here in germany we call them all tuners.

Regardless of how the german government classifies them. They are a tuner and though they are the best, they look like porsche's they are configured like porsches, they use most of the parts from porsche (sometimes very slightly reworked). Without Porsche and it's unbelievable cooperation there would be no RUF.

they are like Saleen. they tune some Mustangs but they also build the S7. you can't call the S7 a tuned Ford, just like you can't call the CRT3 a tuned 911.

I prefere the CTR· whit MID engine and 700hp :)...but the shape of it...its just awsome

I hear what your saying but the Saleen S7 does not even closely resemble any Ford I've ever seen. It also shares almost no parts sans drive train with any ford. A CTR 3 looks like a cayman mashed together with a 911 then stretched. That interior looks very familiar oh yea its also from a 911. Saleen made it's own unique car from the ground up from the chassis, body, interior and styling. Aside from the rear chassis RUF took a bin of Porsche parts and simply re assembled them.

while the S7 doesn't look like a Ford , the CTR-3 looks like a Porsche because they wanted it that way and only a few body parts in the front are from a 911. but the chassis is redesigned, the gearbox and suspensions are specially built and RUF engines are based on Porsche engines but re-engineered and built with RUF parts.
anyway , i used the Saleen as an example, probably not the best example. another example is Wiesmann, they use a bunch of BMW parts but they are a manufacturer.

Who cares what the S7 is supposed to be, or look like. Just give me that Porsche!

WCF com'n stop it please. Get yourself some new editors. Ruf is not a tuner!!! if "automotive editor" does not know this, then he needs to write about something else.

they are a manufacturer that come up with their own work starting with an empty porsche chassis. aside from that they also do tuning for porsche customers. manufacturer is the right word. and thank god they came up with this article after i told them about a month ago that rt12 s was released and they didnt cover it :)
