BMW CS Concept meets Aston Martin One-77

Since BMW has started to spend all their time designing automotive oddities like the X6 and 5-Series GT, grad student Iulian Bumbu has decided to give the company a "suggestion" by creating this dynamic looking S.X Concept.

Envisioned to be BMW's next great coupe, the S.X Concept takes several design cues from the BMW CS Concept and blends it will some familiar themes from the Fisker Karma and Aston Martin One-77. One of the key design elements is the concept's low and wide stance, which gives the car plenty of street presence without being overpowering.

Bumbu declined to comment on what engine would provide motivation for the S.X, but the X5 M's 555hp (408kW) twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 seems like a logical choice.

As you may recall, Bumbu also created the racy Lamborghini Insecta Concept earlier this year. Like the BMW S.X Concept, the Insecta blended traditional parent company styling with a bold interpretation of the future.

There is a urgent need for a BMW sports car competing with the Porsche 911 and Cayman series. Mid-engine, light weight, efficient and buyable. But the look of this S.X concept is not BMW-like. This is a mix of a Aston and an Alfa 8C. Sorry.

You're completely wrong on that. There are SEVERAL cues of the BMW design language. There's CS, there's Z4, there's X6 and even 6 series. No offense but you're not an industrial designer. This guy did an excellent job in this exercize mixing design lines from current BMWs with future cues. He'll probably get snapped up by BMW DesignWorks in Cali- they recruit talented people. Great job.

dose 5 GT, X6, X3, or the new 7 series look like BMW to you? seriously you need glasses because thiese cars are on the sh*tty side of the original design and this is on the heavenly side. grill is a redesigned grill of a new bimmer(its just back wards from what are now but 30 years ago they were straight.), head lights are 90% concept CS, bonnet is 80% concept M1, profile is 30% Z3 Coupe and 70% 2002 GT4 Frua , rear is a combination of 1 and 8. seriously if you want to know what exactly dose a bmw look like, see them before 1990, not x6.

you know how i know you don't have a million dollars to talk like that? cuz millionaire's don't care. if it looks good they buy it no questions asked. this looks amazing, and probably for a fraction of the price of a DBS which is just pure sex on wheels.

The only thing missing is the Hofmeister Kink! Apart from that, it's gorgeous! I challenge people to try and argument their opinion instead of saying "this is failure, like all renders!". Wtf does that even mean, X6M?

This look agresive! like an BMW should be always. Form me this is how an M6 should be whit a V10 and 1400kg ´couse the m6 in the market its fast but dumb when it corners

BMW should hire this guy. The car looks fantastic, except for a few tweaks here and there I could see this as a BMW. Its better than what BMW has come out with, the X6 is hideous, and the 5 series GT is, ugly too, and completely pointless.

This should be the next M6, with a high output, highly efficient turbo V8 pumping 550hp, instead of the V10. A lighter car with a V8 growl. Goddamn hot.

For a Graduated student, he did a good job. The car has some good design like the rear-end. Front end is also nice but the side one is not.

My thoughts exactly.

Now I don't like the current BMW design language, but I can appreciate its oddness.

This is just too conventional, too safe, too obvious. This is what a classic coupe looks like and it's not innovative.

This is the car people who don't have BMW's, want BMW to make. It's a stunning car in itself, but it's not a BMW in my opinion.

The front looks like a squashed mosquito....but the rest actually looks pretty damn good. With lower and more discrete headlamps.....maybe it'd be just right.

The last thing you would want to call me is a BMW fanboy, but I wouldn't call the Z4 ugly. It looks quite nice. As for the others, feel free to call them what you want.

looks like an Aston, barely a BMW. the grill is messed up and the design is unfinished. too many cuts. Also resembles the concept design for the next gen Acura NSX.

this is beautiful. it draws on the CS concept which i thought was an amazing design and i stopped liking bmws about ten years ago.
