Although these mods will increase the cost of the car, rather usurping the thing that made it so appealing in the first place.

I would rather slit my wrists than have a crash inside this car, let alone get in one in the first place.

Slitting your wrists is probably a more effective than crashing this car :P

One thing is for sure,I will not and mean will NOT allow my kids to travel in one of those! Not until it meets European or American safety standards!

Yay, the Nano isn't built from lego as I thought. Maybe this car can be a hit and soon a future classic!

Happy to share the info guys, this little thing could be a huge hit (no pun intended to the crash testing)

Well, we all know this car will never make it to the states or Europe. It will fail every time. What I don't get is Tata, builds an extremely low budget car for people that can not afford a real car and then even admits it will not pass the safety tests in its unmodified form so why bother bringing it to the Europe/America. I say keep you crap in your own country, better yet, close shop before you embarrass yourself even more.

You didn't get the point. They will bring a modified version of the Nano to Europe so that it passes the crash tests. The original is only meant for India.

by the way do you see how mangled that dummies arm was in the close up photo - shame on tata

What do you mean the arm is mangled? You can easily bend your arm in to that position. A crash test dummy just doesn't have any muscles to pull his arm back in to a more natural position.

This is the new Beetle. You'll see them by the million in South America and Chinese markets. If it passes EU code, it'll easily pass US codes.

That's no Volvo, but at least it's not a G wiz or FAW. Shows that Tata really wants to get in the market.

absolutely right about that... just wish any improvements developed for Euro tests do find their way down into the home market version. I see nothing wrong with what Tata is doing, keep it up!

Bring it to North America and keep it under $4000. I want one.

this car is driving into the future, it's the beginning of bright future for India. If you guys didn't notice, the engine of humanity in the 21st century is in India, China, Brasil, Russia. The world needs to see those economies growing. USA is bankrupt, and we can't expect growth being exported from USA, except debts and problems. So thanks God, there is new Asia to lead the humanity into bright future.

India and China both still have glaring issues with people who are undervelopped in the mind. Like the Tata CEO that got killed by a mob...thats not civilized. As for China, they still have massive human rights violations. The U.S. is bankrupt? Russia isn't and neither is Canada. Tata is just a half-assed attempt at breaking into a market they aren't fit to be in. The U.S. still makes some of the greatest cars, at least better than the Tata trash. Hell even Korea makes ten-fold better cars then Tata. Come back to me in 20 years Tata, then we'll see where you're at before i take you seriously.

The US needs this car. It's all they'll be able to afford when the rest of whatever jobs are available are outsourced to India.
