Looking forwart to BMWs approach to the next 5-series... The 5-series is an important car for BMW... All with a 1 and 3-series loves the current looks because it's the current ?ber beemer (The 7-series is pretty distant here in Denmark with our 180% car tax...!)
Hope they keep the track of the new 5 GT design, but without the ugly wagon-but-stil-kind-of-sedan-look....

I owned years ago a E34 5-Series which I admit it sill looks beautiful to my eyes. At least I like the new headlamp of 5-Series GT or new 7-Series and the look of taillight of the new BMW generation remind me a lot of ones similar on E34. I would get one.

WCF ALWAYS do that with bmw stories... i suspect its just another typo. but correct me if im wrong here!

"Those include both the 3.0 liter V6 and the 4.4 liter V8 twin-turbo engines."
effington, thats a typo, that should be inline-6 not V6.
I think the new 5-series GT should give us a hint on which engines will make their way into the new 5-series sedan.

It is going to be boring, i can see it on the shape
BRING BACK BANGLE

Bangle ugly? Hes designs werent ugly, they were contriversial - and i think that they looked good. Especially better than the bland stuff BMW are coming up with now

These design cues look pretty good on the 7, but you're right this is boring as hell. They should sell this car with the psychedelic cammo to make it more interesting. As much as I grew to like Bangle's designs.. I think he made a great exit. I hope he starts his own electric car company or something. The guy is a true visionary. He brought mass appeal to such controversial designs. I think that pretty much means his work was dam good.

The front lights look good but the rear lights look horrible like the 7 series. All I can say is, its wasted!!

Its like almost 50% of the rear lights are covered by psychedelic camo, its really hard to comment on the shape when we can't see the actual shape of the lights.
It could look like the one on the 5-series GT, X1 or updated 3-series...

This model has me excited! Gone are the strange, strained headlamps and the weird boot cut-lines of the previous model. The F10 looks like it will have great road presence and style without distractions. I have also seen interior spy shots where the F10 boasts a manual transmission and a beautiful, purposeful dash and instrument cluster.
This car could dispell the evil rumor (which I admittedly help spread) that BMW has lost focus on core (sport sedan) products. Get this one right and all will be forgiven.

If u look @ the interior shot u'll see that this car will have an electronic parking brake. NYC!!!

I know its wierd, but somehow i feel like this is the next generation 3-series and not the 5.It just fits better to my eye being that way..The overall size, front and back lights shape..everything...just the interior its cleary 5.

Yeah i agree i think its an update to the 3 series to the new styling cues found on the 7 series. Toooo small for a 5 series.

looks very 3 series like. I think ill like it.
ha, in like the 9th pic the new 5 series perfectly blocks out the 7 series headlight behind it.

The area below the doors (do they still call it a runningboard?") is very plain - almost Amish. It would make sense that aftermarket tuners and BMW's own M-Sport people will come up with several different components to offer something with a bit more movement and eye-appeal. At least the surface looks clean - and no "sow-belly."

bangle reminds me of ross lovegrove, they love to talk for hours and hours about their work which end up looking horrendous, bad, weird and good....not brilliant or a master piece which they play it out to be.
more wind than essence.

I disagree. Bangle has his own aesthetics, an individualized design structure and we can disapprove it. Ross Lovegrove is a "bricoleur", he is playing with known elements from industrialized aesthetic structures and he is designer in printed or visualized reality not in design world.
