F1 peace ends: FOTA 'walks out' of FIA meeting

Formula one's brief peace was shattered on Wednesday, as the teams met with the governing body in Germany.

According to the FIA, the meeting ahead of the German grand prix at the Nurburgring was to seek the agreement of all 13 2010 teams to scrap the proposed budget cap rules and replace them with a "legally binding agreement ... to reduce costs" to early 90s levels within two years.

"The eight FOTA teams were invited to attend the meeting to discuss their further proposals for 2010. Unfortunately no discussion was possible because FOTA walked out of the meeting," the Paris federation said in a statement.

FOTA, representing every 2010 team except Williams, Force India and the three new entrants, gave a different account, revealing that the FIA's Charlie Whiting informed them that they "are not currently entered into the 2010 ... world championship and have no voting rights in relation to the technical and sporting regulations thereof".

Representatives of the rebel group requested the meeting be postponed but "this was rejected". FOTA denies part of the Paris peace deal in late June was the requirement "for unanimous agreement on regulations change".

"To subsequently go against the will of the WMSC (World Motor Sport Council) and the detail of the Paris agreement puts the future of formula one in jeopardy," said FOTA.

The eight FOTA teams said they had "no option other than to terminate their participation" in the FIA meeting.

As sad as this may be to see, I give the BIGGEST GODDAMN MAD PROPS to FOTA for going balls out and defending what they believe the viewers and lovers of F1 love! We don't want no Mosley and Ecclestone commanding and concquering F1 like a bunch of Neo-Nazi's, we want pure pure hardcore moneyless gutless racing.

Whatever happened to going crazy, and inventing a spoiler, or going crazy, and inventing a 6 wheeled F1 car, or going crazy and designing aero flaps UNDERNEATH the car!? That was F1... ingenuity.

Thank God FOTA had the balls to step in there and take control. I think I represent everyone here when I say I hope FOTA becomes the next F1, and that we all learn from this, especially the FIA.

For Sure! I said it before and i'll say it again, the only lasting solution is a BREAKAWAY SERIES! We'll always have problems as long as Bernie the CLOWN and Max the PHFOOOL are involved, you can't reason with them! FOTA should just leave them behind and start a new Championship!!!

They'd better have realized by now that a breakaway is the only way to go.

What i can say to the FOTA is walk away from F1, the same way you walked out of that meeting, because if you keep arguing with Bernie, the self professed "IDIOT" and Max the "PHFOOOL" we won't be able to distinguish the IDIOTS from the sane people. Leave those two Clowns and their pathetic Circus of an administration!

I could not agree more. I would love to see a FOTA championship and my pre-agreement excitement only increased when the initial schedule showed the return of some classic F1 circuits and some new locations too.

FOTA brought this upon themselves. Don't get me wrong, I support the FOTA teams 100% but the deal with Mosley last month after the WMSC was making a deal with the devil himself.

I said it back then and will say it again, Mosley is not gonna give up and the problems will continue. It would've been better if FOTA went with the breakaway series, now it's too late.

Hey FOTA give up on F1 peace. Nazis don't negotiate and they do not surrender. The would rather die in their bunkers and leave everyone else to suffer from their evil ways.

How many more times will FOTA go back to the table with F1 only to get kicked in the teeth? Breakaway already; you'll never see peace until you do.

It's about time we got back to the F1 where technology was supreme and designs were not like the ones of today.

Do FOTA have a different sexual orientation or "Weltanschauung" both are not negotiable anyway Hence Nazis have a suicidal temper and our sexual inclinations are known as rigid as hell it is almost dead end.
