Mmm...nothing special, plain Saab. err...boring. look at new Jaguar, that's what i called ground breaking & finally out of the box from the past! Saab needs something like that...otherwise, nothing can help boost their sales.

It looks pretty big, but the back looks too big an the front a bit small

To be honest here, I have never been a fan of Saabs. They just aren't cool. I don't think this new car will make me like them anyway. Oh well, it they die out they will be no big loss.

yawn...if i gave you $50k to buy any car in the world would you pick a saab? honestly.

This car works well in Sweden becuase it is a standard family car, nothing special but in the rest of the world it doesnt really make the mark. Its a shame really, becuase if they managed to drop the price abit it would sell.

This is NOT a Swedish car from (en r?dda Volvo och hushemmet) Swedish dream. Look at shape of the new Sonata (above on spy photos page)as well. This Saab is an American "letter car".

That is true, this car probably wont be the Swedish peoples dream car, it will probably be more America's but at the moment the 95 is pretty popular, but we still have our good ol' V70

Exactly Alessandro, not much Swedish about this car, except the the factory location. This not a real Saab, just another badge engineered GM turd designed by GME Opel design team (yawn)! Let's wait until the products from the Swedes from Koenigsegg become available...should be interesting

FYI: if you've ever visited Sweden or talked to Swedes about cars, you would know that Swedes are big car nuts! From young kids to grandma's, everybody races/drives rally's there, it's called folkbil racing! Look it up). So saying they only need standard family cars is like saying Americans (like me) would only need trucks...both statements are absolutely 100% false!!!

Hahaa! Sorry, its visible from here where you live man?
I was 7 years old when I started to drive a car.

Looks like a Merkur.. remember those ugly bastards from the 80's? Too bad this thing wasn't developed under Koenigsegg. I bet Stiggy wouldn't have been able to handle it!

As much I know the GM-s quit new Saab design centre located somewhere near R?sselsheim, Germany. It is not far from Frankfurt am Main. Anyway, tell me, to Qvarnstr?m, more what is Swedish, please, any time!

this car won't save saab...the next 9-3 will. what it will do is get the press writing good things about them...the dynamucs of this vehicle will be key
there are only so many people that can buy a 50k+ car and they buy badges, you can ask everyone that isn't named MB, BMW, and Lexus how their sales are in that segment. even Audi struggles. the only way to knock those guys out is to sabotage one of their suppliers
i don't even think this would be a pre-lude to any new saab tech....so much time has been wasted in the past 6-7 years that a lot of engineers left to go to germany and volvo for various reasons.
with the right cashflow and no longer being a 'sweatshop brand' you can expect to see some great innovations from saab in the next 10 years. i'm not saying they're going to crush munich/stuttgart but europeans are great engineers and nordics are great with developing new technologies
if you want to see what could have been for the new 9-5 then look at the new Eclass...
