poor Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, and other great artists must turn in their graves every time someone who calls himself an artist comes up with such crap.

Ohhh shut it! Can't I have an opinion? They're like arseholes, everyone has one... in case you didn't know.

i would say it's cute if a 5 year old made this. but when some adult guy makes this and even dares calling it art, then i'm sorry, but it's crap and that guy deserves to be punished for offending real artists.

Well, whatever... you're entitled to your own opinion, so let me be entitled to mine. Just because I like piece of art that looks "childish" or has been influenced by a child's drawing, doesn't mean it's "crap" or people that like it need their "eyes checked" that's just pathetic. I'm sure you'll find that art critiques around the world that also like this piece of art.

nothing against you , you can like what you want. i just hate these so called modern artists who can't even draw an egg if they have to. call this thing a wacky painting , call it whatever you want , but don't call it art.

OH MY GOD. A travesty of the car world equivalent to the Pope jacking a child off, what a humiliation!
Romero Britto, kill yourself, now!
July 3, 2009 4:52 pm
Clearly Britto knows nothing about cars. The Continental GT is a thoroughly German car, meaning there is nothing cutesy or fun about it; like everything German, it is much too serious. And, like all German cars, it takes itself too seriously to prance around in a silly cartoon frock. Look! It's angry! "What doofus would dress me up this way? I'd rather drive into a tree or be rolled over by some ham-fisted footballer. Excuse me while I burst into flames spontaneously to spare myself this humiliation."

... therefore, it will not "put a smile on [automotive enthusiasts'] faces" like he wants it to.

German car it may be but Bentley is still very much a british brand.
but on a more serious note. why vandalise a Bentley like that?
July 3, 2009 7:15 pm
Why do you say this car is German? Bentley is a British brand and the cars are made in Crewe. They are no more German than Opels or SAABs are American.
The whole parental ownership argument is a weak one, as large corporations, especially publicly listed, have a complex systems of shareholdings that means you can't start calling the national identity of a brand as where the bulk of its shares appear to be owned.

it is a german car because despite being assembled in crewe, it is assembled with german parts. the car was designed mainly in germany using the phaeton platform (vw d1s) and a vw engine. it was styled by a belgian (as clarkson always points out), and uses bits and pieces of the phaeton. hell, the convertible version is made completely in germany.
aside from its name and place of assembly, this car is no more british than a rolls phantom or ghost.
July 4, 2009 5:25 pm
saying this car is British is like saying Audi TT is Hungarian because it's assembled in Hungary.
July 5, 2009 5:39 pm
wow.... what an ugly pos car :/ who let the designer's 6 year old design the car ? they should be fired. lol
July 3, 2009 6:33 pm
What a Hippie wagon... Just because the car has been painted like that, it won't turn the grass smoking hippies to drive a car that goes less than 20km/l.. Or is it Elton John who had asked for this one??
July 3, 2009 6:38 pm
he should definitely get this one, i think pink beetles are less gayer than this
July 3, 2009 11:47 pm
Anything could be painted. Bentley is not an exception. Actually it is not worse than this golden Ferrari surrounded by barbarian adoration.
